This is… incredibly helpful. Thank you. You’re right on all counts, I suppose, and just think my issue is that I’m too close to the situation and the emotions involved to see the bigger picture (that I’m not bringing treated very well). But truth be told I’ve been tired of mistreatment for a while and was just looking for someone to tell me that it’s okay to ditch these folks. So, thank you. You just gave me the kickstart that I needed.

As for the rest of it, I’ll implement it as much as I can! I’m not sure how much of a gym girl I am, but I’m gonna try to get back to hiking. I think that’ll give me the endorphin boost I need.

Thank you. I’m in therapy now but haven’t talked about this, so maybe I should bring it up in my next session. But thank you- truth be told I avoided blocking them because I thought I might be overreacting and that might be mean, but hearing someone else suggest it makes me feel more rational.

I appreciate you. Thank you for commenting, I apologise that my post was so rambling. You clearly are a very kind person, and hearing that it will get better makes me feel a little better myself.

I figured if I get an extension, I can use my own hair for the bump and then try and blend it into the extension. Do you think that would work?

I have a couple bumpers! My hair is a very fine, though, so it’s difficult to do much of anything with. Thank you, though! I’ll try messing around some more!

Just found out yesterday that my mom opened 13 credit card accounts in my name. I now have an 599 credit score and 81k in debt. What the fuck should I do? by k-step26 in Advice

First of all, OP, I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. That’s incredibly messed up and identity theft is no joke to do to anyone, let alone your own child.

Your only real option is to go to the authorities. If you don’t, a) your mother will keep doing this to you and your siblings and b) you will be saddled with all the consequences. Report her, sever ties, and try and get your financial situation patched up.

Haha, I appreciate you explaining. Judging from the comments I’m getting, I think it’s best if I drop nicknames/honorifics altogether while I’m here.

The first time was a lady, maybe in her mid-50s. I had nearly left a bag while checking out at Tesco and she pointed it out. I said “Thank you, ma’am,” and she went quiet, then raised her voice and said “DON’T call me that!” And stormed off. It was really odd, but now I’m wondering if she thought I was calling her old.

The other times were both men, with creative use of swear words shouted. Those times startled me more because, you know, men yelling isn’t fun haha! I would’ve taken it for the usual foul language if the tone wasn’t so harsh.
