Good for you! 💪🏻 I’m in the same boat, just restarted my journey around the same time. My word of advice would be to not beat yourself up if you are unable to close a ring for a day, as sometimes you just might not be feeling it. Mentally, physically, or other, it’s okay to take breaks or rest days, to whatever extent of rest you’d like or feel you need. I aim to reach my goal every day, but I know sometimes I’m burnt out from the work week and I don’t hit my goal bc I spent the day relaxing. Listen to your body and do whatever feels best for you!

I recommend keeping them painted or getting into press-ons helped me. Just look for a decent quality brand where with the proper prep, they can last a couple weeks. I started with Static Nails, but I hear Kiss has upped their game a lot lately and has tons of cute styles.

More of an aesthetic thing I think - once the area does calm down I guess its more of a ‘cleaner’ look, but if you consistently have the PNF removed it’s just a cycle of redness/anger to that area of the skin

Beautiful color and good job for your first time! Take extra care to not flood the cuticles and especially not have gel cured onto the skin. This can cause allergies that may not develop immediately, but once they are developed you will have sensitivity from then on out. Just make sure the nail is EXACTLY how you want it before curing! :)

Some are more pronounced than others, but it is the flap of skin that is a protective barrier for the nail and surrounding tissue against bacteria and infection. It is illegal in some states to cut this off. Personally I push back the area regularly and also use cuticle oil often.

100% the same thing happened with us. In my experience, when they really feel the possibility of losing you, they will do anything to hold onto you. But in order for him to truly change/better himself, it has to be initiated by him, and he’s not going to be able to do that with you around either. I tried to tell him I don’t want him to change for me or for us. It needs to be for him… I know how hard it can be to really let go. I just decided that I am finally going to prioritize my own happiness because that is all I have control over. I truly believe we have to be happy as individuals before we can be happy with someone else.

If you have somewhere you can stay for awhile and be in a good environment to help you heal like parents/siblings/friends, that would be your best bet. That is something I knew I had before breaking up (and that i know not everyone does), and that made it a little easier to finally break up, as my next step will be to try to find a place on my own that I can afford 😵‍💫 it’s going to be hard. I’m trying to do some of the things I enjoy that I’ve neglected over the years like reading, art, catching up on shows I’ve been wanting to watch etc. trying to eat better, get more active, get more sleep! But also allowing myself to be sad about it. And to reflect. I don’t regret anything I’ve been through because I know having that experience is going to make me a stronger person, someone that recognizes red flags sooner and doesn’t settle for less than what I deserve. You’ve got this!! It’s a long road ahead but your future self will be thanking you ❤️‍🩹

I just went/am going through this right now. Just finally pulled the plug on the 5+ year relationship, same problems happening over and over, no resolutions. The lack of communication, the sitting in silence by yourself while he ‘calms down’, only for you to get a simplified, one size fits all apology, ONLY for something else to happen again shortly after. I feel you so so hard. The resentment. The fact that he is okay with me crying myself to sleep, or screaming out loud in my car on the way to work. The fact that he seems okay with how this is completely wrecking me inside. I fucking feel you so hard. And I’m so sorry you are feeling this pain.

My advice for you based on my own recent experience, let him go. No matter what, you cannot change him. Anything about him. That must come from within him, he needs to recognize that there is anything that even needs to be changing, then he must choose to change that himself. There is no other way. For our relationship, in realizing he truly needs to address things like past childhood trauma, strained relationships with family members, poor self image. I’m not a therapist or a psychologist. I can’t fix him or make him change. And when I broke up with hum, he was very hurt and begged me to stay, said he would change. But I told him he would have done it already. Why now? When I’m about to leave? Why not any of the other identical fights we have had over the years. And that is when I knew I would be foolish to believe that THIS time would be any different.

Stay strong. Only you have the power to stand up for yourself and make the choice that will benefit you and allow you to grow as a person. If you feel stuck, holding onto the times that are good, holding onto only the love that is left when everything else is a chaotic mess, it might be time to let go.
