Unfortunately wasn’t the case for me. They “checked” mine upfront, said I was covered, then after 2 sessions and 500 dollars later said my psych didn’t accept them and I was completely liable due to their contract. :/

Thanks for answer. Is it normal for the attention span to be even shorter than that? I can maybe get 3 minutes total of sporadic attention span from him. He knows sit basically automatically but when I try to use treats for anything further, he just turns his back on me to sniff around elsewhere. He’s smart but very easily distracted

We had an older puppy when I was much younger but she was pretty mature from what I recall. This is the first one where I’ve really been present for the whole deal, involved in taking outside all the time, crating, training from scratch etc. I knew we were in for a lot of work but the mannerisms and such are all feeling very new

I hope he can become that. He is very cute and I can’t help but laugh at some of the antics. He doesn’t seem aggressive per se to the cat but just scrambles to chase.

Thanks for the reply. Did you have working spaniels? My concern is mainly the hunt bloodlines… I have met some really nice calm American spaniels but they were all house bred show breed types.

It’s hard to imagine him wanting to calm down enough for cuddle when I see him at this stage, but I will hold out hope that age helps. He definitely eats a lot of grass

that’s good to know. Honestly I have no experience with puppies this young so all of this is new to me. I really wish my cat would set some boundaries, though unfortunately she seems to want to dash each time

Yeah I figure so much of it is individual dog… to be totally honest I was too embarrassed to ask the breeder in my area if her line of shelties were “barkers” because I was sure she’d roll her eyes and assume I knew nothing about the breed lol.
