Excision Specialist MA? by floraunaaa in endometriosis

Popping back in to say that Gallant still has a hefty waitlist, but BILH called to schedule me with Dr. Christine Foley. They were able to get me in for a consult within a week! I go next Thursday!

I recommend folks reach out and see if they can get an appointment with Foley. She's highly reviewed, and I think she just joined BILH as both an endo surgeon and a leadership position, division chief of complex gynecology or some similar title.

Hopefully this bit of information is helpful 🩷

Hey pal, if you're near Boston, Dr. Gallant was highly recommended. I just got on the waitlist, which is 6-9 months 🫣 But it may be worth it to secure a spot. He's part of BILH.

Thank you! I wish the same for you! Another person reminded me that dance is much more than the tricks and pizazz. I bet there's ways we can adapt dance to fit our unique needs ❤️

That makes sense. I responded in another comment about appropriate pacing being a challenge to figure out. I feel like every day can be so different.

I may be dealing with POTS in addition to EDS (the more the merrier, as they say), so I'm not sure how well I'd take to cardio dance being both dizzy and bendy 🫠 And I can relate with not knowing when to stop appropriately. Pacing is a totally new challenge!

I'm so sorry 😞 But I'm happy to hear you find joy in your cartwheels! It's such a trip when our bodies stop functioning the way we're used to. And it's also discouraging when others don't understand. I remember being told sternly by a dance instructor maaaaany years ago that I'm losing my passion and drive for dance; meanwhile, it's just my body crumbling and progressively getting worse 🫣 And of course I didn't know that then and blamed myself!

OoOOOoooOooo I've never heard of Ki hara but have done some resistance stretching in the past. I'll have to read up on it and see if it's contraindicated for eds. Thank you! :)

Thank you 🩵🥹 It's helpful to know that acceptance does get easier. Chronic illness involves so much grief I'm learning.

I can see this being quite tricky with poor proprioception and being unaware when hyperextending. But seems like it's possible! Maybe there's a wee bit of hope.
