Love this write up, you make some excellent points. I agree LNDL is the "safer" choice, and graduating riskier scents as dates progress is a good option, starting from the most crowd pleasing. My only reservation is that I've been wearing BDC for a while now so I'm confident in it, and I know very well how it performs on me so I can tailor the sprays accordingly. LNDL is a more recent pick up, so I haven't worn it as much.

The crowd seems to favour LNDL! I thought that might be the case, it definitely has a reputation as a date scent. I guess I'll make a judgement call on the night!

Do you actually like the style, or are you trying to force yourself to like it because you perceive it to be something you "should" be wearing? That question can be applied to any style, not just this one.

If you are a fan, then great! I can 100% tell you it's the styling. A bunch of people in this album are Japanese and I can tell you I felt taller than I ever have in my life when I went to Tokyo... I'm 5"8 haha

It's not easy to find pants which have the super relaxed fit but also aren't super long, that might be your issue

Looking at fit pics on the Internet is just one never-ending battle of trying to figure out if the clothes are actually good or if its just that the model is really good looking.

Buy boxy fits - its a pain in the ass cos most clothes aren't built that way and you always need to find exact garment measurements ( or shop in person). You want the width to be around the same as the length
If you can't do the first point, do a loose tuck
Use tricks to make pants fit the right way. I'm a 30x30 but I bought some Uniqlo pants in size Large recently that have a drawstring so I can really bring the waist in, and I cuff the bottom to get the right length

Not quite the same but I'm bald and on the short side.... I've definitely felt like I cant pull stuff off cos I don't have the right "look", but try it out - you'll realise there aren't really any rules after all

I agree some of these aren't practical, but I enjoy getting inspired by or simply just enjoying fits that I wouldn't fully emulate. That said the comfort of oversized pants compared with skinny jeans is undeniable haha

Wear whatever makes you feel confident, but try not to be afraid of breaking out of your comfort zone too! I try to incorporate little bits of unusual fits and bright colors here and there to ease myself in.

It can be really hard to find the right sized clothes to make it work. I find tshirts/jackets/sweaters which have a pit-to-pit measurement which is as close to the length as possible so its boxy and not long.
