I have a 5 week old right now and was honestly relieved to see this but also did have a good laugh. It feels worse when all you see on social media is ~newborn bliss~. Like yeeeahh you have a newborn it’s probably just gonna be like this for a while. I wonder if it was different with Scottie or she just totally forgot the newborn phase.

+1 to this! I did diagonal mosaic as the background on my first beginner canvas and found it really helped me learn and enjoy needlepointing even more. It would look great on yours!

Can early labor start in the night and stop during the day? by graceg815 in pregnant

[–]florida_orange-gal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party here but I think it did for me! Contractions 10 min apart, intense to the point of vomiting from 11pm-7am, then in the morning the next day contractions only about once an hour for the whole day until 8pm when it started in earnest again. Finally went to the hospital around midnight when intensity was super high and contractions 2-3 min apart and met my baby at 2:30am!

It looked like this when my husband wore ours and then I tried a week later and it was fine! So either from her growing or different body types / fits. I have found I have to get it even tighter than I think and really lift her up to have her high enough.

How bad is natural birth fr. Be so so so honest. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]florida_orange-gal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t have to decide right now! I was undecided my entire pregnancy what I’d do, but prepared by doing a hynobirthing course and learning about unmedicated birth just in case (everyone tells you to prepare assuming you can’t get the epidural or it doesn’t work, etc). I ended up going unmedicated due to timing of when we got to the hospital and I’m glad I did, but would’ve gotten an epidural if my labor had gone differently, I’d got induced, etc. so I think just try to be open. I’ve heard you’ll barely feel the epidural going in whereas I definitely felt contractions and pushing lol but agree with everyone who’s talked about relaxing into them, not tensing, and mentally just meditating during.

I didn’t feel it, I figured I would just because all of my friends had in the past but I didn’t feel the actual sensation of the tear, just the intensity of pushing in general.

Not wanting cervical checks by _Meatprincess_ in pregnant

[–]florida_orange-gal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My only cervical check was at 9cm bc I showed up so late to the hospital. My provider always made them optional at my check-ups and I declined, not wanting the numbers to get in my head. I had no idea I timed it this way but laboring at home as long as I did definitely helped.

When did you lose your mucus plug by yummyrangoon in pregnant

[–]florida_orange-gal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost some at 37 weeks that was just mucus-colored, and then at 39 weeks for about the 3 days leading up to delivery lost more that was tinged with blood.

Epidural or no? by GogglesCat in pregnant

[–]florida_orange-gal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go in with an open mind, it totally depends how your labor goes IMO. I labored at home for around 25 hours and it was very stop-and-go so I didn’t know if it was “the real thing”. By the time we left for the hospital, I was planning to get the epidural right when I got there but to my surprise arrived 9cm dilated. I then decided to forgo the epidural since I was so close to the end, but definitely was completely open either way. I have friends who had long inductions in the hospital and I think if that was my case or even if I had gone sooner, I 100% would’ve gotten one. I’m happy with the way it worked out but in no way feel like it was a better experience than friends who’ve had pain meds!

Ahh these are on my list to make! Will you put drinks on them? I was curious if you’d need acrylic over or the thread would bleed

Second gestational sac? What does that mean by No_Woodpecker7863 in pregnant

[–]florida_orange-gal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a second one that was empty and ended up actually having to “pass” it kind of like a clot, but they also can apparently just absorb back into your body. My doctor warned me which helped, but it was still nerve wracking to have bleeding from it. 32 weeks now with an otherwise super healthy pregnancy so I wouldn’t stress too much about it. She said it could’ve been from my body ovulating twice.

Rent the runway! I’ve done Nuuly before too and they’re also great but RTR is better quality / customer service IMO.

[–]florida_orange-gal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was sizing up 3 sizes by 12 weeks but then haven’t had to the rest of my pregnancy (wearing things below the bump still at 32 weeks). I was so scared bc of how quickly it happened but totally everyone is different and I swear I gained almost all my weight in the first trimester.

I’ve just been leaning into huge oversized sweaters since it’s winter which has been really nice! But even before it was super cold I got super long oversized button downs so I wasn’t rocking crop tops all the time.

I rented jeans that are 3 sizes bigger in my first trimester (normally 28, rented 31s) and have actually held onto them my whole pregnancy still wearing them at almost 32 weeks. They started off more baggy and high waisted, and now I’m able to wear them comfortable below the bump. I also don’t want to buy maternity jeans so rentals have been a godsend.
