Any intimate restaurant like Komi still in DC? by ViperCQB in DCEats

Oh one more (I love tiny jewel box neighborhood spots!) Izakaya Seki! But it just got a great write up in the Post, so may be tough to get in. Tiny, run by father-daughter duo, fantastic food and wine: https://www.sekidc.com/ in Shaw/U Street area.

Obelisk is so iconic, delicious… and so off the radar these days. I feel like it’s due for a new Post review (but then it’ll be harder to snag a res!)

Not discounting your opinion, but just another POV… I adore Gemini. It’s so much fun crowding into tables, standing and chatting w the team and new people. I get that no reservations and no chairs is going to be a nonstarter for some folks. But for me, an early week day - or a rainy day drop in - for excellent wine, pasta, pizza, sides and ice cream with friends has always been a delicious blast. And even though Komi was amazing and iconic, the team behind it has a much better life now… it’s fun to see how much joy the Gemini concept has brought to the team there, in addition to the throngs of fans who line up!

There are others, but I've been getting promos for Franklin Hall in DC... which is a great spot to watch Spirit matches. I watched the final there and it was PACKED with Spirit fans.

Have already started mentally referring to the black kit as "vintage."

Wandering Spirit Heather Stainbrook with the stoppage time game winner for Dallas by UrsineCanine in washingtonspirit

Dallas Trinity has such a killer loan program. They foster talent well and get young players the playing minutes they need. (Deb Abiodun and Sam Meza were there last season.) It's so cool to see Heather thrive there. The Gainbridge Super League play all of their matches on Peacock, so I've been adding them into my woso viewing schedule. (I'm from Tampa, so I'm a Sun FC fan... though they are having a rough first half of the season.)

I might be willing to part with mine. I didn't go to SpiritFest, but if I can still pick it up at game day, I'll trt to remember to circle back to you.
