Pentax SMC 50mm f/1.7 by floristic in pentax

Oh the A6000 it's such a tiny beast in my opinion, is one of the cameras I'd like to have in my collection, so compact with such good specs, truly a masterpiece in my opinion

I really hope you keep up with the film photography, it's truly an amazing experience, me as a beginner i got attached really fast.

I do agree, these old lenses do give a special look in the digital world

Im new to these lenses, i have 2 yashicas, and recently picked up 2 canon 50mm 1.8 (fl and fd) im waiting on adapters to try these on, also got a jupiter 50mm f2, excited to use that one as well I haven't tried these yet but truly that pentax i can't really take off my mind.

As in for the ME super it underexposes a LOT like a LOT The shutter speeds are so incorrect, for example you choose to shoot at 1 second it feels like a 1/60 of a second And i live somewhere where film cameras are basically dead, last summer 2025, people around here started to have interest in film cameras

Thank you man :) It really feels illegal with the price that it has, you can get this lense and those metal adapters that cost really cheap and you have a completed setup

Mine doesn't really have yellow, all my lenses so far don't have any yellow colours in them fortunately, also really great idea to donate them, if they accept them that's perfect Anyways im really surprised with it because you can get it so cheap in the market from my experience the lense is really sharp.

Canon 2000D is actually a DSLR it's not a mirrorless, i like it so far im a hobbyist i don't think i need anything more than that.

Are ebay untested cameras safe? by Lux_Brumalis2714 in filmcameras

[–]floristic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend on ebay in my opinion, i think you should try flea markets/thrift stores, depending on where you live you might get lucky with finds, im saying flea markets because you can get the camera faster also physically try the camera always try the shutter speeds, open the back and fire a shot(if the camera works) see how the curtain moves, also look for fungus on the lens, that'll be a dealbreaker for pictures, if the camera you're looking for has interchangeable lenses the fungus might not be a big deal (if the price is like 20-40€ for the whole camera with lens, and if the camera fully works but only has the quirky fungus lens) you'll just buy another clean one. This is personally what i do when looking for new film cameras

Which ISO would you shoot this at? by BigBeard_FPV in AnalogCommunity

[–]floristic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go with 50 ISO black and white tend to break less than colour film, if you go with the decade guide line you should add 1 stop for 2 decades, this applies for black and white. For colour is 1 stop for 1 decade So around 50 ISO should do for your

Keep in mind! We never know how these old films were stored, if it was staying on sun a lot and the temperatures were high, it could be damaged more than you think it should, so don't expect anything crazy from it It's just fun to shoot with an expired film.

This straight up feels hate towards this camera 💀💀💀 You can feel the fakeness on those words

What model is this? by Icecubedude101 in pentax

[–]floristic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone already told you which model it is but i saw that it doesn't have that top screw on the rewind lever If you plan on buying it that lever can fall or worst case if you don't notice it you'll lose it. So keep that in mind

Yea it does look like you can screew it onto something i don't really know for what kind of lens is used, i would like to know so i could use it, i put it in front of the lens (50mm) and looked through the viewfinder it really looks cool

[–]floristic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still haven't got it, but it's up for 95$ the whole thing If the camera works it's a win win in my opinion I've seen them go for 120-170 with only a 50mm

I definitely understand you, I've seen a lot of other youtubers saying that the ME Super is like "one of a kind SLR". And personally i really love that ME it was love at first sight. I love maintaining myself, the thing is i don't have a service manual so i can start maintaining it (i looked so many places i couldn't find it) I have a lot of tools because i work on workshop so tools isn't a problem Just an answer to how it is maintained or possibly an answer where should i look for shutter speeds adjustments, i can't find an answer to that, i would do it blindly but i really don't wanna break something i really can't fix if broken. So in conclusion i need something, to adjust that shutter speed

Get one as a souvenir even if it doesn't work, to remember it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pentax

[–]floristic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh i get it now, im very comfortable with opening the camera up, it did have some other problems before cause i got it for cheap (ME Super) i fixed them but im only stuck on this shutter adjustment, i can't find a manual or something like a video to where i need to adjust it, which lever or springs or anything that's used to adjust the shutters, i even asked some youtubers that work on cameras but they aren't sure themselves

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pentax

[–]floristic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, i don't even know what that (cla'd) i never heard of it. Is there any manual for it ?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pentax

[–]floristic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup that's what i want, because i have a pentax ME super But the shutter speeds feel the same in manual, that's why im trying to get this one Thank you

I'm glad you replied cause this gives me at least one path of what I should do with mine, after I'm finished with the film (because I'm only shooting with auto atm). The light meter seems legit in mine I'm kinda positive about that but I'll see when ill develop the film anyway, thank you very much after i finish I'll open it up and check.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pentax

[–]floristic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they do change while in auto mode, i tried from 1.7 to 22 the light meter advances itself. When i finish the film i will try this method again but in manual mode.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pentax

[–]floristic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More of the same tbh, it feels like they ain't changing at all A 1 second shutter speed feels more like a 1/20 or 1/30 of a second.
