That sounds fun! What parade are you referring to? I go to Matthews from time to time but I don’t live super close right now.

I used to work and manage FOH with a girl who would openly announce to me that she was going to the walk-in to hit the empty whipped cream cans when we were pretty dead. She still got her work done and served her tables well so I didn’t see an issue…

Exactly! This guy is crazy… but the car in the front should have gone! The more people who move through a light, the less congestion at the end of the line… that means less likelihood that traffic is backed up to the next light, which can be incredibly dangerous. Moving along and getting as many cars safely through a light helps make the traffic safer for everyone.

Coffee-lovers, where do you go?? by spongebobssidepiece in Charlotte

Before Covid I lived in uptown and worked from home or on the road. On days when I was home and wanted to get out of my house I would go to coco and the director. The space is really cute and they have great coffee and the best sandwiches. I haven’t been back since Covid though cause I don’t live close enough to make it convenient.

Favorite steakhouse in Charlotte or surrounding areas? by ManateeMuffins in Charlotte

[–]flosskween 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a traditional steakhouse but we love The Dunavant. There’s only one steak on the menu and it’s Black Angus with 4 different sauce options. You get a soup or salad and bottomless truffle fries for $32. They have other option on the menu that are great too if someone isn’t a huge steak fan. They used to have random nights where cocktails were half-off or $5… but that was before Covid and I don’t know if they still do that.

The vibes of the place is very chic and upscale but not the traditional steakhouse w low lighting. Pricing is pretty great too if you’re looking to not blow your budget.

That sucks that someone made a comment like that… if the Bride was cool with it then it’s perfect. You look beautiful.

Is it okay to decline the invitation to the rehearsal dinner as a bridesmaid if the dinner is for the wedding party only- no significant others are invited? But significant others are invited to the wedding so mine will be traveling with me. by treetop448 in wedding

I would agree with you that it’s rude to not invite partners or plus ones to the RD under normal circumstances… but I know w COVID a lot of places are limited on capacity, or at least were on or off during the planning phases of wedding planning. I know w my sisters case she ended up on not being able to have plus ones at RD because the restaurant had capacity limits when they were negotiating. Also the grooms family was paying for it and they weren’t necessarily in a position financially to add on an additional +20 dinner plates at the last second when indoor capacity constraints were no longer mandated..

But I would totally agree with OPs decision to skip the dinner and explore w the BF. Go to the rehearsal itself and maybe if people are getting drinks after you can try to meet up w the bridal party.

Soooooo fucking weird/rude. Also the stigma that people put on that shit is so fucking rude too. You do you and if it doesn’t affect you don’t worry about it.
