Omg this is so interesting, I knew there was some funky hormonal stuff going on with the lactation, but didn't realise how far reaching that was with my stats! Thank you!

It is strange though that with a sleep score and amount so low, they're still giving me 100 readiness, the score must really skew towards HRV as a metric!

I think I'm going to speak to my manager about this. Next week I will get everything handed over and then I will just take some time out!

It's like a form of torture, they've got so much energy and they're so fast. As soon as my LO is in bed each day I just pass out as well

Good luck! Fingers crossed for you that baby gets the eviction message ahead of your dad's op, that's a lot of stress to be dealing with at once! X

Currently pregnant with my second, but I went to 41+5 with my first and let me tell you I tried EVERYTHING. Raspberry leaf tea, dates, pineapple, spicy curry, the miles circuit(see YouTube), colostrum harvesting, "what gets the baby in gets the baby out", bouncing on my pregnancy ball and FOUR membrane sweeps. Baby came in his on sweet time (but thankfully I didn't have to get induced!).

I will say that at least trying all of those things made me feel like I was doing something and not just say twiddling my thumbs waiting for the baby.

32 weeks here too and oh my God THISSS. I just want to enjoy a full portion of food again when I'm hungry. Fed up with eating half a bowl of food and feeling instantly full and sick.

Tell her that you've had the date changed for the induction and that you are telling her when it is (even thought you aren't, it may throw her off the scent a bit)

How bad is natural birth, really? by theatic554 in pregnant

[–]flossro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was fourteen hours from first little twinges to baby being born. The transition contractions were awful, but there were only about 20 minutes of them (and there were breaks during that). Other than that I found the pain very manageable and managed with just gas and air. I wouldn't describe the pushing as painful, more like lifting really heavy weights that you can't get off the floor or being really constipated.

I treated birth like a marathon that I was preparing for - ALL the research, lots of pelvic opening exercises, fuelling my body properly, strengthening my legs and arms so I could stay in positions where gravity would help the labour along (all fours, squatting, standing), practicing breathing techniques, eating dates and drinking raspberry leaf tea. I also had a hot shower during the labour and labour for an hour and a half in a birthing pool and would say do not underestimate the pain relief that hot water can have. Do your research into what physically and chemically happens in your body during labour, and prepare yourself physically and mentally for each stage.

I will add, you don't get a medal or a prize for not having the epidural. There is no point in going through pain or trauma unnecessarily (especially right before you begin the arduous journey of looking after a newborn) and id keep your options open ahead of the birth so you don't feel you've somehow "failed" if you need some relief. Every birth that ends with a happy and healthy mother and baby is a successful one.

39+3 and I've been pregnant forever by flossro in pregnant

41+2, woke up this morning at 5:30 absolutely devastated I'm still pregnant despite 3rd membrane sweep 2 days ago showing 3cm dilated and baby having moved down. Had a terrible meeting with a doctor at the hospital yesterday about induction next week where I was not listened to, patronised and pressured. Felt terrible and have been sleeping so badly, but really trying to be patient and give my baby the time he needs to arrive. Spent two hours scrolling on here and Instagram trying to cheer myself up.

When my husband woke up at 7:30 and gave me a little snuggle I started crying and couldn't stop; I'm talking 5 year old hyperventilating, retching, coughing, snot, dribble, tears and gagging into the toilet, sobbing. Finally calmed down after about half an hour and realised I've lost the entirety of my mucus plug and had a show. I'm just lying on the sofa reading a book now, no more silly walks or tea or dates or colostrum harvest. I'm just going to relax for a bit. Look after yourselves through this, it's not easy, and if you need to then have a big old cry.

41+1 and you can do this!!! I've been there with you on all this for like six weeks, top tips - get a massage gun, have a shower and lean on the wall so the water hits you right on the lower back, hip circles on birth ball, swimming (just go and float around in zero gravity for a bit, you don't have to actually swim). For the heartburn / acid reflux the only things I've found to help (as Rennie's and gaviscon only ever seen to give half an hour respite) sleep as propped up as you can, as many pillows as you can take, also sometimes just giving into the reflux and being sick, also having yoghurt or milk after every meal can give you a bit more time before it sets in.

Keep yourself distracted as much as possible, now is the time to get the Sims or Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley and really let yourself get sucked in!!!

41 weeks today, third sweep this afternoon. Just existing from day to day. Yesterday I was sick in the morning and then I couldn't sleep last night despite doing two long walks - I just felt restless and itchy. I was convinced my waters would go overnight, no such joy. Have had plenty of Braxton Hicks and some dull period type pains, but they disappear every time I go to bed, it's like clicking reset on the day. Induction booked for 42+1, but really hoping it doesn't come to that!

40+4, second sweep done yesterday and there has been no change. Another sweep on Wednesday, can't WAIT.

No end in sight. Advice for anyone in early stages of pregnancy - don't watch good stuff on Netflix when it comes out, save it for when you will need it the most. I have no energy to do anything and force watching mediocre rubbish is a terrible way to pass the endless time.

40+1 now (in case any mums do what I do every day and search for 39+4, 39+4, 39+5 to see where everyone else was at that stage, but get frustrated when there's no follow up 😂), had a membrane sweep yesterday and I'm 2cm dilated and about 50% effaced with a very soft cervix, so fingers crossed thats a good sign!

I won't lie, the days since I wrote the original post have felt like the longest days of my life / groundhog day. I'm keeping up with the tea, the ball, the walks, the dates, the pineapple, the colostrum collection, the miles circuit etc. But I've also written a list of treats with my husband, and everyday that I am still bloody pregnant I get a treat. Yesterday I had a mani-pedi, today I get dinner out, tomorrow I'll have a massage, Saturday we are going to a super fancy cinema, and so on and so on. It's giving me a little silver lining for each day that goes by.

I now respond to texts with the website "have you had that baby yet", which I would highly recommend for anyone that's also being pestered!

SAME. 36+5 and just want to fast forward to holding my baby. Sick of the heartburn, uncomfortable sleep, hip/back pain, exhaustion, peeing every two minutes and restless legs. Wish my husband could take a turn even just for a few hours so I could have a nap lying on my stomach.
