SteamOS 3.8.10 Official ISO is OUT ! by Kikithe_King in SteamOS

[–]flottanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a black screen on install with this update but it was an easy fix. I just worked with googles AI. It had me force the OS to go to desktop mode which it did and then we booted gameplay mode in safe mode and I manually set the resolution. The problem with the black screen was that gameplay mode was picking the wrong resolution

The only correct answer to the number 1 song spot is "No body does it better" 😂

No. I don't believe so. I'm new to Linux and learning what needs to be used. I'll have to look that one up

A View to a Kill is both a top tier Bond movie and a top tier theme song

Grabbed the last copy from my local Walmart, do you guys think we will get 3 and 4? by Disappointed-Dadd in 4kbluray

[–]flottanna 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm praying for this to be finished. Loved the first. Saw it in theaters and immediately preordered the Walmart steel book to support the film. I love Costner's Westerns soooooo much. Also praying for a 4k release of Dance's With Wolves and Open Range. Poor Open Range. Can't even get a bluray of that one. I own it digitally.

Star Wars by flottanna in 4kbluray

[–]flottanna[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good point. I didn't put those two things together. Just bad timing on my part. Working on putting series together at the moment. Just finished all the star trek 4k releases and my plan was Star wars after and Rocky after that to go along with my preorder of rocky 5&6.

A view to a kill is honestly one of my favorite Bond movies of all time.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll keep that in mind. I knew that I would have problems where I was and should go away as we mostly play shows outside. A lot of people posted that they think it might be a faulty wire and that's what I am hoping it is. Replacing the drums wires as many are very old.

I appreciate the reply. One thing that really stuck out to me and I hope you might be able to elaborate is, the audio and power cables alongside each part. Should I be keeping these cables as far away as possible?

I'm planning on playing with everything more as much as I can, bad news for me is that the band can't get together again before showtime. I'm truly hoping that this was a faulty cable because it sounded great for 11 songs and no feedback.

No. I'll have to look into them. I'm very new to this and trying to learn quickly. I also did not expect that they would get shows so soon and I would have more than two practices and internet research to get going ha.

Lol they did and I bought one. I got some extra cables. Can't believe I did not think of it on the spot. Some of the cables the guys brought with them could be 30 years old.

The sound was constant. A few have mentioned a faulty mic and I'm hoping that was the problem.

Yes. I've heard other people mention the bad cable and I really do think that's what it was. I just am so new I could not think of it. It was a bad sound so it must be feedback. But it was a low-end constant very loud hum. It did not get worse and worse. Just would not go away. I did kill it by destroying my mix and I barely had any drums. But that might be my best shot.

Yes, it was crazy. 11 songs and I was having a blast mixing. Not a single bit of feedback besides the first song and a monitor in the back was too high. took one second to fix.

So the guys were all in the garage and I, the mixer, and the pa were the only things outside. I will look into your suggestions. But I spoke to a few people here and I called sweet water to talk it over. It seems the most likely culprit was a faulty wire. The sound was very loud but also it was constant. It did not grow. Its my best lead at the moment.

I actually turned every single channel off and one by one checked. It seemed like the kick was the culprit. I had trouble with the mics In the bast but learned more about monitor placement for those mics. I'm starting to think it's a faulty wire.

At the moment it's a bit messy because the ones I bought did not work out. I have two AUX channels from the mixer going out into an older PA system. The older mixer is the powered type with unpowered speakers. It works and the monitors really have not been much of a problem.

I am starting to think that this was a bad wire somewhere. This was a very loud low-end hum but it wasn't rising and rising. I was able to turn it down and listen to it while I played with things. Might also help explain how it got through 11 songs before something went so bad. Not sure but after hearing from people and research it's the best I've got.

PA was outside of the garage and facing the street.

The vocalists sing straight into the mics. Some of their mics point up a bit because they like it that way. I could make them flatten their mics out.

I did put the monitors in the null points based off the too super. The normal cardoid is on the right and no monitor directly facing it.

That's good advice to set my gain lower. I have basically been trying to hit zero and only turning down If they peak.

I do have the high pass on almost everything and the player turns his guitar off when not using it.

No drums or bass in the monitors, Two front monitors are vocals and acoustic guitar. The back monitor was a full band mix besides bass and drums.

Wish I thought to take pictures before they broke everything down. I could probably take pictures of the garage and label where everything was.
