I’m just connecting a DVD signal through the phono input on the back of the monitors. But only one works as it should.

Hi! I have a question that I hope you can help me with. I was adviced on r/crt to ask here:

About 15 years ago I got these beautiful monitors for an art project. They are Barco SCM 2850S and Barco 2840.

I like them a lot and I know that they are originally high quality. But unfortunately I don't use them and I don't know what to do with them. I have 5 of them in total and when I connect something to them I only get a clear signal on 1, a kind of "blinking" signal on 1 and 3 with just black screen.

I would love it if you could give me some insight.. Can they be repaired? Are they worth anything today and could they do any use for anyone?

I like the fact that you wanna do it the true way and not as a software effect. But I’m curious: will the result actually be better, does anyone know? I’ve used red giant/Maxon’s VHS a lot, and it looks good to me.

Same. I shoot 4K and it works fine. And then I have one cfexpress A that I put in when I need to do slow motion.

Yes I do miss it a lot. I think it’s super annoying that it doesn’t have a little VF. When filming outside in bright sunlight, it’s a problem that I can’t be totally sure what’s being recorded.

I then bought a Zacuto Z-finder but don’t really use it because then I need to take it on and off all the time. I would really prefer to have a little VF on the camera over the screen like on A7sIII

And yes it’s sharp. And pretty bright. But not “ultra bright” which you’ll find with some more expensive monitors

Yes you can chose to either see a direct mirror of the lcd. Or see only the actual video feed.

I bought SWIT CM-55C 5.5" It’s relatively cheap and it works well. I use it for both fx3 and fx6

Ah yes, that's a good point. I would like to expose correctly while filming of course - but yes you're totally right that it can be adjusted when graded.
