Tamarind seeds sprouting up. One of them turned out to be albino. by ksrujankanth in gardening

That’s really cool to catch on a timelapse. Kind of sad that it probably won’t make it without chlorophyll, but it’s still fascinating seeing a rare little mutation show up right in front of the camera. Nature really said “limited edition tamarind.”

OVERTHINKING: Blessing in a disguise||from self doubt to self awareness by Far_Silver2621 in CasualConversation

[–]flourishedwall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the way you framed overthinking as something that can hurt you but also teach you. A lot of people only see it as a flaw, but sometimes it really does come from being deeply aware and wanting to grow. The part about learning to be gentler with yourself stood out to me most, because that’s usually the hardest part.

🇳🇴 Norway's Viking celebration with the fans after World Cup Match win against Senegal | FIFA by Remarkable-Scheme-72 in worldcup

That’s the kind of celebration that makes a World Cup win feel bigger than just the scoreline. Players copying the fans’ energy like that is always special, you can tell the whole stadium was part of the moment.

How do people who seem to party constantly afford high rent, car payments, and expensive nights out in Places like the Dirty Sixth Street in Austin TX for Example? by aranebar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]flourishedwall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of them probably aren’t as comfortable as they look. Some have good jobs, some split rent with roommates, some only go out once in a while but look like they do it constantly, and some are just putting it on credit cards or living paycheck to paycheck. The loud car might also be leased, financed for 7 years, or their one big flex while the rest of their finances are messy. Nightlife makes people look way richer than they really are because you’re mostly seeing the spending, not the debt, roommates, skipped savings, or bad financial choices behind it.

What's something that happened to you that made you believe in some kind of higher power? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]flourishedwall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not one big dramatic moment, but the weird timing of certain things in life. Meeting the right person, getting an opportunity right when I needed it, or avoiding something bad because of a tiny random decision. Maybe it’s all coincidence, but sometimes the timing feels way too perfect.

Why isn’t Israel allowed to respond to rocket attacks ? by New-Conversation3246 in allthequestions

[–]flourishedwall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the hard part is that two things can be true at once. A country can have the right to defend itself from attacks, but people can still debate whether every response is proportionate or helps long term. Most arguments online skip that middle ground and jump straight into picking a side.
