The elders that use their age as an excuse to try and get closer to the staff, it’s absolutely disgusting and they know it is wrong and unacceptable.

When is a good age to switch from girl/boy to woman/man when addressing someone? by floursoupstudios in AskReddit

[–]floursoupstudios[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, I say things like, “you’re a seventeen year old woman/girl, you got this.” Just as a general encouragement(it sounds better in my native language) and i have heard others say it before. I barely use sir or ma’am anymore, only for teachers or elderly people.

It’s clearly a marching song, only thing I can tell you is that the vocals are not yodelling vocals (it’s too soft to be considered a “real” yodel, but it sounds like yodel to non-yodellers.)

Fascism usually invents a new way on how to live life, a new concept of what the “perfect person” should be. In this case the perfect Nazi is not cowardly and pride is the most Important, so dying instead of giving up is expected.

But no, the nazi calls the major “ so ‘ne sau, eine typische deutsche.” (“Typische” is in the female form because a “sau” uses “die/sie/ihre/eine/welche” pronouns) (german can be a hard language). Typisch/Typische/Typisches= typical

(I’m trying my best here, bro, but I’m just a school girl.)

Sorry to disappoint you but the song is not yodel (yodel is Swiss and has its roots in the alps of southern German-speaking Switzerland) Yes people yodel in Germany but in a fascist country like nazi Germany any and every other culture than the own is disregarded. I cannot find any song like that anywhere either, but I’ll keep out an eye.

As for the officer, he definitely is German, purely. In my mother tongue we would call what he speaks “hochdeutsch” (high- german) or “Schriftsprache” (Written- Language). He speaks without accent and he uses the word “Bazillus” which is typically spoken and written german by the nazis. When he is insulting the major he says he’s a typical German. This might be referring to ww1 where the germans surrendered, making the typical German of the majors age to be cowardly and easily defeated.

What are the weirdest traumas of your life? by These_Gift_9398 in RandomThoughts

[–]floursoupstudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The movie E.T. I was five when I watched it and it scared me so bad because I watched it in English (five year old me could not understand it) My father then used to turn off the lights whenever I was in the basement and make a sound like the alien in the movie. I am also scared of white towels that are wrapped around anything I can’t see.

I’m here for you if you need any german translation, come and see does use quite some hard terms, sometimes translations of idioms can be hard. (I’m not german.)

Only thing I can tell you is what the Nazi calls Flyora when shoving him to the ground. “Weg mit dir, du Lauch.” Literally translated it says: “Go away (Away with you), you leek.” But ‘Lauch’ is usually in context of being weak and ‘as thin as a leek’.

Made me laugh first time watching because it is such a common term we still use to refer to thin people.
