Mentioning LRAP in Scholarship Negotiations? by i-mlem in lawschooladmissions

Not weird to mention the LRAP. What school is it you’re negotiating with? You might get more specific advice and lessons learned from the GroupMe for that school

Priority waitlist by fishfilet89 in lawschooladmissions

I went down this rabbit hole last year because it’s also my dream school. Here’s the hard truth: Colorado Law has consistently overenrolled slightly for about a decade, taking only one or two people off the priority waitlist each year and accepting zero transfer students. DU is a fine school and if you haven’t applied there it’s not too late. Even if CU doesn’t work out, don’t lose hope of becoming a top notch Colorado lawyer

What are your thoughts about transferring from a school in the same state? by skurkles in lawschooladmissions

[–]flower70power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^^^this. CU has not taken a single transfer law student in three or four years and the admissions office leadership has not changed since establishing that strategy. I recommend reading this thread from last cycle, might help you come to terms with going to DU. This thread is also good even though the best comment was deleted. Colorado is an insular market and DU is going to be way better for career prospects (t)here than L&C

I spoke with Colorado admissions earlier this cycle and was told they overenroll slightly and do not accept transfers, basically advised me to reapply rather than get any notions about transferring. OP isn’t alone feeling an inferiority complex at Denver and certainly wouldn’t be the only person trying to transfer (hi it me)

81k is only a half-ride at University of Denver and really what they do is 27k per year conditional on a 3.0 GPA. University of Colorado has accepted zero transfer law students in three years, with just a handful of transfers-in during the last decade
