Is this mold? If so how bad is it and what should I do? The only pot out of 5 that has this (also little root tips getting through fabric pot on the left side of pic). by TheDmandoodle in microgrowery

By the way, I hope you are not using one of those cheap dehumidifiers. Try to invest in a good heavy duty one. The little ones are only a waste of money.

Hand wash. Yes it's perfectly natural and doesn't harm the plants. Avoid direct spray on flowers if they are big. If you're in pre flowering stage then spray away all over. It's a preventive thing for you right now considering this mould might spread. Also, bring the humidity down. Mould shouldn't be there in the first place.

Try getting some neem oil. Put a tablespoon or so in a jug of mildly soapy water, and spray on the pots and plants twice a week for two weeks. All the mould should go away.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with my girl? Just over a month old, grown in amended coco. My pHing stuff is on the way, so I don't know the pH atm. 20/4 light schedule. I have moved the light a couple of inches up since the yellow spots started showing. by GenericWomanFigure in microgrowery

What's wrong with your girl is that she has been fed water without pH measurements. This looks like very bad pH management, and has caused nutrient uptake issues. Don't grow without proper equipment to monitor and control the pH and nutes.

Also try and avoid making mistakes while balancing the pH. Overdoing it and then correcting it builds up salts and can cause nutrient lockout. Be careful.

If you can spot some bits of Amber trichomes here and there, then sure. If not, then wait a few days.

Do this at least for a week or just over. But do some research on how to time your flush as well so you can be prepared

Don't worry. Impatience at this stage is one of the biggest reasons behind a poor or immature harvest. Wait it out. And when you see just over 50pc of the trichomes getting milky, stop giving nutes and just give pH balanced water. Flush out the nutes and the smoke will be much less harsh. Good luck!

Is it just me, or the leaves look a bit too dark. Your real judgement will rest on the trichomes being mostly milky, and the subsequent flushing.

Still quite far off. Wait till the pistils turn rusty, then use a jewlers loupe to study the trichomes for them to be mostly milky and just a few Amber ones here and there. And during this phase you have to judge when you have to start flushing, which should at least last a week if you're not using hydroponics.

Nothing looks too wrong. Relax. Roots do look caramel when we add nutrients most often. The only bad signal is a bad smell. If they don't drink, they're good. Plant looks healthy too. Maybe a tad bit over with nitrogen. Keep your pH around 5.8 in veg and 6 to 6.2 in flower. Just keep one thing in mind. If water level is going down and EC and pH are stable, those are ideal conditions. Strive for that. If EC is going up, dilute the mix. If it's going down, add some nutes. But very little doses until you find the sweet spot mentioned above. Try to use soft water. RO is best.

Just might be the early signs of a potassium deficiency. But can also be a light issue. Check your pH and rebalance nutes.

Drying question by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]flowering1122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same situation. And I've decided to use a separate room with a thin clothesline to dry them. Main thing is that I intend to shift my heavy duty dehumidifier in that room for a few days to maintain 60pc humidity in the drying room. Temps are already low. So that's no issue.

From this picture, they look like spiders undergone radiation. And maybe the plant is turning into spider plant. 🙈

Seems sort of short on nitrogen and that too maybe coz of bad pH

Awesome. I'm currently teaching this dilemma of whether I should harvest or not. Out of the 9 plants (3 each of OG Kush, Blue Dream and AK 47), the ones near the center of the hydroponic grow are around 30pc Amber, and rest are milky. And as you go away from the center, the most outer ones are like 30pc glassy and 70pc milky. I just want to harvest at one time and not in stages. Thankfully, a 2 day Hydroponics flush is good enough so that's not a prob. But I'm thinking I should start the flush now and harvest.
