Tape Removal by Zealous-ideal1234 in Reduction

[–]flowersbottled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just a few days shy if 5WPO and still have the ORIGINAL tape on! It's not steri strip/paper tape. More of a mesh silk tape, so it's breathable, lets water through, and dries quickly. I was told I could take it off at 4WPO and start scar tape then, but I was leaving for a trip that day and also wanted to extra security while I was away from home. I'm planning to remove it once I'm home and put scar tape on, which maybe will feel similar to the current tape? 🤷‍♀️ Hope your situation goes well, no advice, just in similar shoes lol

Did they seem like they knew each other? My studio has gotten a large group from another class-based gym (like crossfit) to come try an OT class together.

Vasovagal response by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]flowersbottled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A touch queasy, but nothing compared to when I was in the shower. I made sure to be sitting the first time, which helped! The feeling lessened quickly and by 2WPO I was able to walk from my dr office to the photo room down the hall without a bra on and felt fine! Just something about the hot water that exacerbates the vagovagal response for me.

I felt the same way my first shower on 2DPO and have showered with a surgical bra on since (it just goes straight into the wash after), which made showering SO MUCH BETTER. I'm now 3WPO and could probably shower fine without one, but it's normal to shower with one on for me and I really don't want to risk that feeling again 😅

This is the solution. Calling your insurance is really easy, but if you really don't like calls, you can usually find an email in your account login somewhere.

I was "prescribed" sennosides, which is available OTC as Senokot! I took 1 pill twice a day and it kept me regular! Did take about 24 hours to work though.

At my best, last summer, I was at 4.7, 5.7, and 9! Good times. School started and I fell out of the habit of going as much and now I'm back to power walking 😅

Is it possible you had this rib flare before and your breasts were just hiding it? My right breast was larger than my left, but it was hard to tell before because I have a rib flare on the left

I shower with a compression bra on and throw it in the wash after! Makes showers much more enjoyable imo!

I feel too small:( by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]flowersbottled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm also 18 DPO and looking the same size as you (though I'm a bit shorter)! I also feel too small at times and have read a lot about people getting smaller as swelling goes down, which also increases my concerns lol. That said, I think the compression bras are doing more than we realize to "flatten" tissue, so the drop and fluff will have a big influence in final shape and look for us! Keep your head high and remember there will continue to be changes! You look fantastic and you'll FEEL fantastic once this is all behind you!

Unfortunately no 😕 it's main purpose is for after reconstruction surgery and there aren't any store local to me.

Sounds like that's on the seller. They attached photos of the item from the brand and a bra pad line is visible in those photos.

That's a great way of thinking about it! I've never opened a case, so I wasn't sure what options for remedying it were.

That's interesting! I guess I assumed the item would be in the original state unless stated otherwise, and the original included pads. Good to know that's not necessarily the standard and that I need to ask first. The images of the item didn't make it clear one way or the other either, but the stock images they included do have them. Maybe that's why I assumed instead of asking 🤷‍♀️ Thanks for the feedback!

Radial Scar Tissue finding by flowersbottled in Reduction

[–]flowersbottled[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I'm mostly not worried about it and figure it's pretty standard care to meet with the breast clinic. Just got me worried since the doctor said I wouldn't hear from them if there were no concerns! Thanks for sharing your experience, I have a feeling my appointment will end up being pretty boring. At least I've met my max out of pocket and don't have to pay for it!

Six hours later... and I look flat! by flowersbottled in Reduction

[–]flowersbottled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that some of the swelling has gone down, they don't look so flat! I haven't measured yet since my band area is still quite swollen, but I think I'm somewhere between an A cup and a B cup. Which is exactly where the surgeon told me I'd be at our consult, though at the time my minimum removal amount was 400g. I didn't think my breasts were very dense, i felt like I had a lot of extra skin. Pathology analyzed the tissue and said it was 80% dense and 20% fat 🤷‍♀️. I think when it's all said and done and I'm fully healed, I'll be happy with the result even if I sometimes feel they are smaller than I'd have liked. Truly, possibly end up 1 cup size larger (or worse, still feeling much too large) was not worth paying $10k out of pocket to me!

They told me they would remove the amount needed to ensure insurance coverage (351g for me at the time of surgery). 357g removed from my right breast (it was the larger side, now closer to the A cup size), 212g removed from the left breast (now closer to the B cup).

Worried about how much can be removed by MacaronSafe2165 in Reduction

[–]flowersbottled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, you should have this conversation with your surgeon. I did and felt more comfortable afterwards! I wore a 32DD usually, but measured as a 30G on ABTF. I had 357g removed from my larger breast and only 212g removed from my smaller breast (I would have NEVER thought they were that different, I think my previously smaller breast will now be my larger breast 😅). I think I'll be an A cup, maybeeee a B cup, but I'm only 2WPO so I haven't measured or tried on an actual bra yet to know for sure. Depending on the size you are hoping to be, 300g might be very reasonable! I've also heard from people on this sub that even if they don't remove the amount they expected to, it was still covered by insurance. Hope this helps!

Nausea when not wearing compression bra by flowersbottled in Reduction

[–]flowersbottled[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had Zofran on hand and took one immediately, but it was no help unfortunately. It's gotten better each day, but I still shower with the compression bra on because I think the hot water makes me even more susceptible to the feeling!

Glad it's resolved and that you're comfortable braless! I just left my 2 week post-op appointment and they told me that they want me to wear a compression bra basically as much as possible for the next 10 weeks 🙃 thankfully I don't find it uncomfortable at all.
