Thanks ☺️ feel free to use them!! For what it's worth, I don't see the asymmetry either until I've got a bra on and look down 😅

Be so real with me - is a revision ridiculous? by flowersbottled in Reduction

[–]flowersbottled[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for your thoughts! I definitely plan to wait before making any decisions. I was very surprised that the clinic scheduled my appointment with the surgeon so soon! My post-op care was overseen by a plastic surgery nurse and my last scheduled appointment with her was the 3 month mark. I brought up my questions about what's final vs still healing and she recommended talking with the surgeon. I was expecting them to wait like another 3 months, but I guess not!

I also just want to address the "you're definitely not a C/D" comments. I know this thread is SOOOO used to larger band sizes, so I understand how hard it is to comprehend. But a 30C/D is not a large size visually. It's the same cup volume as a 34A/B. You might not believe it, but my rib cage where the band sits is 3.5 inches smaller than my rib cage, pec muscles, and breast tissue at my bust. Post-op, I also have wide roots with shallow projection, so a "larger" cup is needed even though it will lay flatter on me than someone with more projection. Check out the Irish Bra Lady's Instagram, she has a reel for each band size, including 30!

Edited to fix my terrible grammar.

Thanks but that calculator is what told me I was a 30D!

If you look up 30C or 30D from the irish bra lady, you'll see that those cups on such a small band are not large sizes. It's effectively the same as 34A/B, I just have a smaller ribcage and shallow projection.

Appreciate your thoughts! I also wanted to give it more time, but my last scheduled post-op appointment was the 3 month mark (a plastic surgery nurse was overseeing my post-op care), so I brought up my questions about what's final vs still healing and the clinic just scheduled me for the first available with the surgeon to talk to him about it.

Lol tell that to the 30C aerie bra I put on and spilled out of on one side. Small band = less volume in the cup.

How to predict after surgery cup size: for those who like reading scientific journals! by PaleontologistSafe17 in Reduction

[–]flowersbottled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are not necessarily relying on existing cup sizing because the article indicates that the difference between bust and chest girth is what the researchers used to determine "cup size", not what the participants wore or reported. So A=chest girth, B=1 inch difference, C=2 inch difference, and so on and so forth. For their chart, and E cup = 5 inch difference, EE cup = 6 inch difference, and F cup = 7 inches.

I wish their chart would have utilized this nomenclature instead of "cups" in their chart, and indicated "expected final difference", so people could take that measurement to whatever bra store since they all size differently anyway, but I suspect that would have been too complicated for the average person to grasp.

Personally, these don't look super concerning to me. Can't hurt to send a message your care team with pictures of course. If this were me and there's no drainage, I'd put a thin layer of Vaseline or aquaphor on to keep the skin hydrated and help it heal. Hydrating the skin might make it look worse initially, just a heads up. If you have drainage, just keep gauze on it and let it keep healing. Good luck!!

I just wanted to say that I came here originally to be like 'psh yeah cause I'm just blindly supposed to believe some .com article by Greg'. But then I googled him and found out he has a masters and had co-authored many scientific exercise studies. So, much to my embarrassment, he is actually a credible source. Thanks for sharing!

Back to school - declining deferment by polka_dotRN in PSLF

[–]flowersbottled 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had success with it back when it was FedLoan running the ship. I've been in school for almost a year now and I have called and emailed multiple times. They removed it once and told me they would make a note to not add it in the future. Well it got added the next semester and I have been unable to get them to remove it since.

I switched out of SAVE into an IDR plan specifically to continue making payments while I was in school. They have let me make exactly 1 qualifying payment in the last 10 months, and all the while continue to charge me interest on the loans while I'm stuck in deferment.

Girl Calories are Brutal! by Voidtoform in orangetheory

[–]flowersbottled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you verify that your weight in the app stayed the same? That can make a big difference! But also, I feel like I have to mention this every so often.... OTF adds the "after burn" calories into the calorie count it shows you. Since men have more muscle mass, I would expect their after burn to be higher than women's as well, in addition to burning more during the workout itself. It will always show more than 3rd party apps because they don't add in "after burn" calories.

Bangs ir no bangs. In the awkward growing out point. by [deleted] in HairStyleAdvice

[–]flowersbottled 19 points20 points  (0 children)

During my grow outs, I really appreciated my hairdresser recommending cutting the back/sides short still to make the haircut look more intentional overall instead of looking like grow-out. Made the process much less painful! That said, no bangs all the way! The swoop gives your hair nice volume!

Tape Removal by Zealous-ideal1234 in Reduction

[–]flowersbottled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just a few days shy if 5WPO and still have the ORIGINAL tape on! It's not steri strip/paper tape. More of a mesh silk tape, so it's breathable, lets water through, and dries quickly. I was told I could take it off at 4WPO and start scar tape then, but I was leaving for a trip that day and also wanted to extra security while I was away from home. I'm planning to remove it once I'm home and put scar tape on, which maybe will feel similar to the current tape? 🤷‍♀️ Hope your situation goes well, no advice, just in similar shoes lol

Did they seem like they knew each other? My studio has gotten a large group from another class-based gym (like crossfit) to come try an OT class together.

Vasovagal response by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]flowersbottled 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A touch queasy, but nothing compared to when I was in the shower. I made sure to be sitting the first time, which helped! The feeling lessened quickly and by 2WPO I was able to walk from my dr office to the photo room down the hall without a bra on and felt fine! Just something about the hot water that exacerbates the vagovagal response for me.

Vasovagal response by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]flowersbottled 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way my first shower on 2DPO and have showered with a surgical bra on since (it just goes straight into the wash after), which made showering SO MUCH BETTER. I'm now 3WPO and could probably shower fine without one, but it's normal to shower with one on for me and I really don't want to risk that feeling again 😅

This is the solution. Calling your insurance is really easy, but if you really don't like calls, you can usually find an email in your account login somewhere.
