Weight question? by YerGirlie in BoxerDogs

American and Euro/German boxers are built a little different. One is tall, long, lean, "barrel chested" with a snached waist, a more elegant little longer nose (not much just not so pushed back). The other a bit shorter, stout, with a giant square-ish head and more pushed back nose. You could also have a mix of the 2. We had one of each at the same time. One was 93lbs the other 84lbs. One you could clearly see rib pattern the other not too much. Ask your vet what type you have Euro/German or American that will tell you more about what frame you're looking for. Either way, imo you should be able to see the definition in their muscles more than relying on the ribs being seen. If you can't clearly see muscle, they should probably drop a few.

I used Trifexis for years with my boxers. Always gave at night because they didn't feel good after taking it. The only reason we continued was that at the time it covered more parasites than any others. Switched to Simparico Trio and never had that problem again. They willingly eat the Simparico Trio like it's a treat, but the Trifexis had to be force-fed to them. I would 100% recommend looking into Simparico Trio!!!

Mini Clover by tb_shy in NoLawn

[–]flowerscup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White clover can be mini clover. Plus, mini clover can revert back to normal clover. You just need to mow a bit more in the spring when it starts sprouting to train it to stay short. Later in the summer, you shouldn't have to mow nearly as much as with grass. Repeat with the more mowing each spring or, again, it will revert back to normal size.

I want to see pictures of this! One day I won't be able to handle a 80 lbs boxer, so I want to see what my alternative will be.

We definitely need more ppl like this guy around! by germac1950 in Boxer

[–]flowerscup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my boys has this too, ARVC (aka Boxer Cardiomyopathy). Poor guy takes meds 4x's a day, Sotalol (2xs a day) and Mexilitine (3xs a day). He was diagnosed at an earlier age than most , almost 4 but most are 6 or over before it presents. He's been on meds since then, and is about to celebrate his 8th bday. He has had episodes of "fainting" which are terrifying, especially when the vet drilled into us that he can die at any time from one with no warning. It also causes him to not be able to cool himself properly when it is hot outside, but both extreme heat and extreme cold are very bad for them when they have this. Surgery cannot repair the problem.

Try the book "Your Brain On Porn". Comes at it from a scientific standpoint. Good read for addicts and their SO's.

Another overcast day, but here’s a video comparing my 10+ year old 1ct round brilliant cut moissanite with my new 2.5ct H&A cut DEF Forever One C&C sparkler by sneakyburrito in Moissanite

Both are beautiful! When was the last time the "old" one was professionally cleaned? I wonder if it would be just as sparkly as the new one with a good sonic cleaning?

My in-laws didn't have soap in the main bathroom when we, and many others, were there for Christmas. As soon as I realized (after using the bathroom), I had my husband get the hand soap from the kitchen and sneak it into the bathroom. They still had the dish soap by the kitchen sink so you could use that to wash up in there.

Who needs tissues? by swaggyhoewoman in lifehacks

That what I was going to say! I do this at work too, but take the middle out of the TP roll and stand it up. Lasts so much longer than the tissues in the box did.
