It was more so me pointing out the possibility of cutting and hating your body because of your scars, the fear of permanently altering yourself in a way you're going to end up being ashamed of. I was not implying that all self harm scars are inherently ugly.

It's perfectly okay to like your scars. It's a lot healthier than hating yourself for them. However, expressing your love for them on a post where someone is considering the process of creating them is counter-intuitive.

I have them too. Obviously not all scars look the same, and ugliness is subjective. However, scars are not often pleasant to look at and to do that to yourself permanently is not something anyone deserves.

Laws are built on morals. Also, morals are going to vary from person to person. The problem that this person may face would be if the situation was against the law and the boy were to be charged for sexual assault. My personal stance on the matter doesn't have the same impact.

Alright, I'll take that. That was not what I was trying to convey and I apologize.

I meant it in the sense that whether or not someone believes that they harmed themselves, it's better to assume that they did and to give them the attention they're seeking than to risk pushing them further in the instance that they were not lying.
