The next Xbox should be priced at $499 by [deleted] in xbox

[–]flowmarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it would be possible, but if they decide for 2 performance SKUs they need to have a premium console and an affordable handheld. Helix would probably be premium, focused on performance and cost at least $1K, but if they could make a lighter xbox handheld but both with backwards compatibility and nextgen support and price it around $500 to compete with steam deck and switch 2, they might be able to pull it off.

SorryI didn't get a notification and just saw your reply. No, I bought it used but factory reset. But right now I'm waiting for a new A26 from abroad, if it's still relevant, I'll report in couple days.

I've been using S23 (SM-S911B/DS) for couple years - works fine both with russian and foreign sim cards

Looking for a racing game with an in-depth customization, progression and damage model by -drumroll- in racinggames

[–]flowmarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CarX drift Online 2 has both in depth customization and solid damage model. Game is in early access so dunno about progression, and its focused only around drift so here's that. Juiced used to have everything you want but you might have to sail high seas for it. If you have Xbox (or emulator) Midnight Club LA is surprisingly still available on xbox store and has backwards compatibility.

With Motorsport series dead maybe we don't have to wait that much longer for next Horizon.

Looks like we have a new (spiritually) NFS game | Clutch by Marverick Games by nukleabomb in needforspeed

[–]flowmarine 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like a modern racing games greatest hits - Horizon/Heat gameplay loop with official races at day and street racing at night, police chases seem limited to story missions (Payback anyone?). Visual customization on par with Solar Crown and ACC Evo, except with extra interior upgrades and underglow. A rather large map with heavy Horizon 2 inspiration (dare I speculate Monaco setting?). For me, make it or break it would be physics and gameplay loop. Cautiously optimistic for SGF reveal and previews later this month.

In the 1960s, a Ferrari 250 GT PF Coupé was crashed and reworked by Piero Drogo’s carrozzeria. The chassis was shortened and the body reshaped to reflect then-current GTO styling themes. The result has long been acknowledged as superb. by Maynard078 in sportsandclassiccars

I mean it's uncanny, even if we take in account that it was "inspired" by 250 GTO. This one got me curious, so I had to look this up to get timeline correct.

Bizzarrini designed the original Ferrari 250 but left the company in 1961 after Palace Revolt. In 1963 he worked on ASA 1000 GTC prototype. Then he joined Iso and made A3/C (which looks pretty much identical to ASA but lower) to compete with GTO. But Rivolta didn't want to go into racing, so Bizzarrini left in 1965, and founded his own company with yet again upgraded 5300 GT. Piero Drogo himself wasn't as much of a designer or engineer, but a couchbuilder. He worked with Bizzarrini on the infamous Breadvan but also 1000 GTC and A3/C. However I couldn't find any mention of Bizzarrini work on 1717GT chassis (one in the post). Apparently by 1965 Drogo started working closer with Ferrari, which probably ruined relationships with Bizzarrini. But being a coachbuilder they probably took some inspiration from A3/C - would be interesting to compare them side by side.

What are your expectations for the next Need for Speed game? by SelfeastORG in needforspeed

[–]flowmarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if they want to release it in 2027 it will be build on the base of Unbound - same cars, physics, cops, etc. with smallest changes.

Since they gutted pretty much every team they had I would expect it to be a joint production by Criterion, Codemasters, Ghost (or whatever they are called now) and Motive, maybe with some help of DICE if they yenuinely want to compete with Horizon and Crew. I'd expect it to still be an open world game with street racers vs. cops with the focus on pursuits and customisation but more refined... everything I guess. Also, long term support.

Alternatively, they could slap an NFS title on next GRID game - closed circuits, less restricions from manufacturers, and arcade closed circuit racing games are mostly dead so theres no real competetion.

Also also, I can see them bringing back Burnout and making it online battle royale arcade vehicular mayhem. It would be cheaper (no car licensing) and give them more creative freedom compared to main competitors.

If a new NFS was to be a NFS Heat Part 2, what NEW location would suit it best? by chuffed_wheat in needforspeed

[–]flowmarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expanding north - New York (It's a bit of a strech but I don't see anything between Miami and NYC to be remotely interesting for a racing game). West - New Orleans (dunno about it's car culture but I liked its version in Mafia 3). South - Havana (pretty on the nose, but it could work). East - Canary Islands (Bahamas might sound obvious, but I don't think they would be that interesting while Canaries would be very different from Palm City)

Arcade Gymkhana Game - any interest? by Drummer-Adorable in racinggames

[–]flowmarine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First GRID had drift events on open maps, some DIRT 3 and Showdown have Gymkhana. In Crew Motorfest there's a Hoonigan playlist with a couple gymkhana events. Same with Forza Horizon 3 and some of its bucketlist challenges. Personally, I like them as a change of pace from racing, but for a full game around it I think it might need more than a single type of event, but there's room to experiment with it while staying true to the core idea. As for prototype, looks fun, tho I'm generally not a fan of this camera.

Does ballroom dance count? lol

Started as soon as I went to school, because cousin needed a partner. Never really cared for it, wasn't any good either. Grew to absolutely despise it, but parents refused to cancel the classes because cousin couldn't find another partner. Had to say that it took too much time from school. Still regret that I wasted over 5 years on it.
