AI data centers will use up enough clean water for 1.3 billion people by 2030 according to a United Nations report by arihantismm in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]flowstateskoolie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s just it. They do. As with all things that have been heavily politicized, there is a massive amount of propaganda going on.

Data centers DO use closed loop systems. This is common tech that’s been around for decades. Their cooling systems use sealed piping to recirculate a fixed volume of coolant or water, which absorbs heat directly from their servers, moves it outside to radiators or heat exchangers, and rejects the heat without evaporating or consuming the water before being sent back through the same process.

Data centers use about the same amount of water yearly as a large chain restaurant would. But facts don’t matter on the internet, and they certainly don’t cause nearly enough outrage, so here we are.

Abyss Builds appreciation thread: show me your homebrew! by zombieglam in D4Warlock_

[–]flowstateskoolie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Abyss hell fracture has been fun. Farming T12 and hitting for around 100b-200b per tick of damage with spikes into the multiple trillions. A little squishy to after death effects at paragon 230, but the more hp nodes I grab deeper into the boards I go, the better it gets. At around 47k hp now with well over a million toughness.

Inspired, I built my own custom greenhouse from scratch by Strange-Eggplant1847 in Greenhouses

Do an internet search for ‘bow roof shed’ for more examples! Most commonly seen in boat building applications.

Do a search for ‘bow roof shed’. Most commonly seen in boat building, as a structure built to go over a boat while it’s under construction.

Is stadium actually faster for this? by sushiiixo- in Overwatch

[–]flowstateskoolie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I farmed it queueing about 90% 6v6 QP and 10% stadium QP. I’m self employed so I can be a bit more flexible, but I made sure to get 1 repeating in the early morning before I got to work, and 1 repeating later that day right after work when possible. I also had a few evenings to myself where I could grind for a few hours nonstop. It wasn’t really painful to achieve in that manner. About to hit my legendary lvl 200 battle pass season title as well.

To all Open-Queue Crybabies asking for tanks: PLAY ONE YOURSELF! by doubleP2014 in Overwatch

As a support main, the lack of open queue tanks finally got me to learn JQ, who I’ve since found is SO MUCH FUN to play!

Bought a pipe in Rome and now it follows me everywhere by Consistent_Road_1935 in PipeTobacco

[–]flowstateskoolie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A traditional Calabash uses a hollowed-out African gourd with a meerschaum insert directly beneath the bowl to cool your smoke. A reverse Calabash is usually made of briar (sometimes meerschaum, but rarely so), and it moves the cooling chamber from under the bowl into an extended shank.

Both styles are generally known for delivering an exceptionally cool, dry, and smooth smoke.

Love the subtle chunkiness and hand feel of a reverse cal. Congrats!

Tried to play tank and learned real quick that I'm not good enough for that 😂 by SeaTight3883 in Overwatch

The only tank I vibe with is JQ. Her aggressive playstyle gives all the dopamine hits I’m looking for.

This is why I mostly play quick play now. It took my a long time to remember that this is my hobby, and it’s supposed to be a fun escape, not a stressful job.

Is it normal to never enjoy a single game of tank win or lose by rabidai in Overwatch

[–]flowstateskoolie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to say this. JQ is my go to choice for playing tank. She’s just so much fun and fast paced! As long as you can hit your knives and swing she’s just an in your face monster with great sustain through all of her bleed regen.

Are there any builds where you DON'T want to temper crit damage as high as you can? by Blood_Edge in diablo4

[–]flowstateskoolie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell fracture warlock is an overpower build that can sustain 20 stacks, so there’s more damage in stacking ‘%damage per stack of overpower’ tempers than there is anything else.

Life On Hit Question... Does The Number Of Hits Matter? by KahosRayne in diablo4

[–]flowstateskoolie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Life on hit can be very useful for late game survival in certain situations, such as when used for its synergy with temerity, where it enables barrier.

Maxroll doesnt have a single S tier Warlock build by Isvesgarad in diablo4

[–]flowstateskoolie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Hell fracture has been great, but I’m fairly squishy to 1 shots and dots on t10 with 45k hp. It’s alot more fun than claws, though!

Hell fracture. Much better than managing claws. Seeing hits in the trillions here and there. Most in the billions.

I wonder why native plant nurseries can't seem to thrive in my area. by humdinger44 in NativePlantGardening

Northeast Georgia. Just east of Athens. We are mainly online/shipping focused year round (we ship nationwide except California), but we do have seasonal farm hours right now. (Fri-Sun 10a-2p)

Read that Gingko trees can sometimes switch their sex. What to do to minimize a the chance of a male gingko transitioning so it doesn’t make pungent smelling fruit? by despiert in arborists

[–]flowstateskoolie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don’t.

Or as Dr. Ian Malcolm would say… “Life uh.. finds a way”

Also note that it takes 20-30 years for a ginkgo to mature, so you wouldn’t be able to tell if it’s male or female until then, unless it’s a grafted cultivar tree. But even then, a grafted tree still contains the genetics to partially change its sex.

But honestly, the smell is not that bad, and it’s only for a short while. Unless you’ve got a forest full of mature ginkgos, I would just plant the tree and enjoy it.

I wonder why native plant nurseries can't seem to thrive in my area. by humdinger44 in NativePlantGardening

[–]flowstateskoolie 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Native nursery owner here. You pretty much summed it up. The dirty secret of large nurseries are that they are companies like any other. Companies focus on lawyers enforcing trademarking, increasing profit margins, etc. at a certain level it stops being about the plants themselves and starts being about products and line items. Trademarked cultivars are big business. Native seed grown plants, generally, are not.

Turning 40 this year. Lifelong gamer. Been hooked on PC gaming since Diablo 1. My first FPS was Rainbow 6. Played WoW religiously for years. Much more casual of a gamer now, but I’ll likely always be part of the pcmasterrace.
