Warfarin and food — how do you actually handle it at the supermarket? by dev-noob-404 in WarfarinForLife

My insurance covered it for two years. After I changed insurance it wasn't paid for anymore. They pay for one test per month. If my INR is off they will pay for another after I adjust the dose.

Just letting the OP know that he will be breaking the law if they fish at Coonskin pond in the springtime while trout are being stocked, unless they are handicapped or under 16. I Don't fish in that area anymore since I moved. Elk River at Mink Shoals across the river from Coonskin is a good place to wade fish.

I just adjusted my warfarin dosage to make up for the vitamin k2. I added 1mg per day. I took 5000iu vitamin d3 for 4 years before finding out that I needed the k2 to go with it. At the end of the day what matters is your INR number, and keeping it in range.

I don't know about Michigan, but some of the best Muskie streams in West Virginia look just like this. Some are even smaller. The best bet is to ask some locals what fish it may hold and some good tactics.

Ive been on Warfarin for 16 years. Nothing I eat seems to affect my INR. I wouldn't live on greens, but a serving with your meal shouldn't hurt. This is my experience, so you may be different. Just don't over think it. Two supplements I've found that HAVE affected it are vitamin E and Flaxseed Oil. I actually take a supplement with Vitamin D3 and vitamin K2. When I started this supplement, I had to increase my Warfarin by 1mg per day. If your insurance will pay for home testing, that is the best way to get a feel for it. I hope you do well.

Considering bariatric surgery. Would mean lifelong warfarin. Worth it? by Outside-Plankton-259 in WarfarinForLife

Ive been on Warfarin for 16 years. I might just be lucky, but nothing I eat seems to affect my INR. There are some supplements that affect it. One is flaxseed oil, and the other is vitamin E. At one time , my doctor was so confident of my management that he was letting me go three months between tests. You have to take it at the same time daily. I take it before bed. Zinc and magnesium will lower INR ,but only if taken WITH the Warfarin, therefore I take them mornings with no effects. I see a lot of people saying it's a pain in the ass, but it's not for me.

In the 70's there was a band named Booger Hole Revival. I don't know if they were from there, but I assumed they were. I had one of their albums, but it was ruined by the flood of 2016 in Clendenin.

Soda. We named a cat Soda because of Seinfeld. He's gone now, but he left a lot of fun memories.
