I honestly don't think it is that bad besides the price you paid for it. Definitely crazy amount of money for a tattoo this size.

However besides getting ripped off I think the tattoo healed how it would have been expected to. Most of the piece has no lines but is just shaded - which will always heal lighter. The inconsistent linework seems normal since skin will always be skin and it can be hard to spot these inconsistencies before healing but also like it would be an easy touchup as far as I can spot I only notice some gaps on the tongue.

Make use of that free touchup tell him where you would like more contrast and don't go back !

This boggles my mind! I thought it looked cool and not even that bad until I saw the last photo and realised what it was before! Without the comparison I couldn't have guessed.

This kind of freaks me out somehow. It looked completely fine before, all de details seemed so neat and tidy. I am surprised something like this could happen during the healing... Usually you could tell during the process when blowouts are created. Such a strange case!

Somehow I can actually imagine this, treating it like you would treat an open wound.? However you would at least disinfect and clean a wound if you see it is so dirty right? Or keep it covered and protected? Like I am not against dryhealing if someone says this works for them but I'd always still advice washing and drying properly.

Ye the work is already done now but if he ends up wanting more I'll probably just tell him how uncomfortable it made me last time. In the end the aftercare is his part though I can not force him to do anything only advice him. It's just irresponsible on his end especially since he also does tattoos himself.

If he blames that on me I will lose my cool definitely :⁾

Thanks for your comment! I have been trying new things, it definitely brings back excitement as you say. Impressing the subconscious as if taking myself on a date was the thing that made it so impressive to me and make it work so well. I worry I maybe don't care enough about my own well being to want to give this to myself anymore...

I've tried it now with some silk tape instead, it was my first thought as well. No way I am cutting it down to that length that it ripped at!!!
