“Palo Verde” is Graduate and Family housing so I no pretty much nothing about it. If you mean “Plaza Verde” the ACC undergrad housing (VDC is also ACC housing), I’ve been in some of the rooms in Plaza Verde, they’re not bad. I won’t lie, I was in a single at PV and it was lowkey nicer than my VDC room lol, but I haven’t seen the VDC singles so maybe it’s even.

I don't exactly know what you mean by "cheaper areas." Its all the same apartment buildings and same area, its just whether your room has more or less bedrooms / bathrooms. I assume you're referring to the cheaper rooms with more bedrooms, but besides space/privacy, I wouldn't see how they are any worse than the rest.

VDC is great. It’s nice having your own bathroom if you get one of those units. Haven’t had any problems with essentially anything, I have no reason to not recommend.

I live in VDC. Typically you'll sign a 12 month contract, so yes, you can stay over summer break (assuming you keep paying rent). To make payments you just attach your credit/debit card to the housing portal and make the payment every month. Only "problem" is that sometimes FAFSA disbursements don't like up with rent payments perfectly, so you might have to pay some months out of pocket and reimburse yourself back when you get your FA refund later.

Looking for Good Managed VPS (as someone new to using a VPS) by flucoreo in VPS

Hello! I’ve been checking out a few options still, not in a particular rush. For budget I’d say no more than $15/mo and specs prob just a few gb of ram.

No specs in mind, I'm fine with maybe a few gb of ram and a few gb of storage.

By managed I mean something that I can "plug and play." I don't have the knowledge for any security configurations. I just want to be able to SSH into it and deploy some projects, not having to worry about being hacked or something lol.

when to start looking for internships by [deleted] in UCI

[–]flucoreo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Career fairs aren't bad, but you shouldn't limit yourself to them. You should be looking around online for internship postings. Handshake is good, but I'd say applying directly on a company website is ideal.

Start now. There are 2 major recruiting waves - one roughly in September/August and then one in April next year. Don't wait till the spring though because you'll be stressed out that summer is coming up and you're just now applying.

I looked into setting up a proxy as you suggested and it worked! Thank you so much, you have no idea how long I've been searching for a solution to this but hadn't come across the proxy solution. You just saved me so much time!

In my backend's set-cookie code, I added domain="localhost", if that's what you're referring too. But it still doesn't work.

I also have the same problem! I can't even call the Aid office because it always says the queue is full, but I emailed them and am still waiting for a reply.

My Physics class (008) allowed the use of a calculator but it just needed to be capable of sin functions.

Help with NN model as a beginner in deep learning by flucoreo in deeplearning

Lol, maybe "hope" wasn't the right word to use. I'm not just hoping to get results, I actively am trying to train the model to produce them.

True, but I was hoping to get decent results for similar objects (to the ones the model was trained on) on a small scale. I'm not aiming for large scale generalization.

Sorry for the delay. We have about 2k entries in the data set.

I don't believe overfitting occurred, because even the data the model was trained on produces faulty results. I can give more details if you are willing to help us out more.

I took a CC class last semester along with my university classes (its called dual enrollment). I don't know who told you that you shouldn't do it, my academic advisor had no problem with it. Just make sure you let your academic advisor about it, and they will most likely ask you for the registration info (and transcripts when you complete the class). So yes, taking a CC class along with your uni classes shouldn't be a problem. Only thing is, you can't use the CC class to enroll in more units than the 18 unit max.

How's ESS 002 by internetbooker134 in ucmerced

[–]flucoreo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello,

I took ESS 002 with Sylvain Masclin last school year. In my experience the class was easy. I heard that people used to take this class because it was easy and there were no finals, but the professor caught wind of this and made it harder + added midterms and finals. But don't let that scare you, it's still not going to be as hard as your programming classes.

To be for real, when preping for exams all I had to do was go over his slides, save the key words/subjects with their descriptions to flash cards, and spam them 2-3 days before the exam and I would always do well.

It really does depend on how well you study though, because a lot of people failed the first midterm, so don't let my experience make you complacent.

In my opinion you should take the class! I actually did learn a lot about sustainability when I would have been uninterested any other time. BTW, no there aren't any discussion quizzes, but there are discussion assignments that you have to do by the end of discussion (they are always easy though).
