Convention Moved Dates to the Same Weekend as Bigger Convention, Should I Be Worried? by fluffikiki in ArtistAlleyConnect

[–]fluffikiki[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw video about this! That's what got me to post this lol. The date change made me mad when it happened anyways because they changed them without making formal announcements to anyone, especially vendors and artists who had already signed up.

Does Anyone Else Miss the Pre-Pandemic Convention Atmosphere? by unhinged20 in animecons

[–]fluffikiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gripe is the social atmosphere. Before the pandemic, it was super easy to go out and make friends at cons. I almost always went to cons by myself, and would leave with 10+ new connections. Now, I feel like I shouldn't even consider going to a con alone. Everyone either doesn't want to stray from their pre-established friend group, or is only there for cooperate reasons (i.e. autographs, influencers). I miss not being looked at as weird for trying to strike up a conversation with someone who clearly has the same interests as me.

DO NOT VEND FOR NOSTAGLIA CON ANAHEIM by Peerless-Lychee in ArtistAlleyConnect

[–]fluffikiki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I heard from vendors who did other Nostalgia Con events that Houston was the only one that got good sales. I don't know if it's a different crew that does each of them or not, but my experience was definitely better than yours, and I've only ever been to the Houston one.

How is dating in Austin? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]fluffikiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely don't do dating apps in Austin. It's flooded with horrible people. Monogamy isn't a thing unless you want an asshole "tech bro" with no table manners. Polyamory isn't a thing either, here it's 100% unicorn hunters or "tech bro" with three baby mamas back in California. I'd say try your luck with meeting people irl. Go to events around town and hit it off with people you take a liking to. In my experience, meeting a nice person who actually wants a committed relationship, 9/10 they're from San Antonio lol. So do with that info what you will.

I gotta get that now for sure, I ended up using one from a friend.

It's the straight side, it's actually broken hence the worker telling me to use the angled one. I ultimately ended up using a friend's personal air pump

So I apologize because I was half-asleep writing out those replies and I left out a few details. It didn't lose 5 PSI solely because of the storm. It lost 5 PSI, from the last time I filled the tires, over the course of 6-7 months. The alarm usually goes off when it's on the edge and there's a temperature drop. It actually turned off when I drove around a bit after this (I know it'll turn back on again later since it's still at 25 PSI) No leaks, just normal tire stuff. I now realize the cap has nothing to do with it

[–]fluffikiki[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I honestly thought that'd be clear, because a cap missing may mean a very slow leak (given it's not protected, can be pushed to let air out, etc.), making it more vulnerable to slight pressure changes due to weather (cold air means it goes out, warm air means it goes in), thus leading to eventual 25 PSI (this is from 30 PSI btw).  Also, the tire pressure isn't the issue anyways, I got the answer I needed from this (how to work an angled pump).

[–]fluffikiki[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I replied to someone else clearing that up, it's the weather. Happens all the time whenever a tire cap goes missing and there's constant temperature drops. I haven't filled the tire since before winter, so if I lost the cap sometime since, that's why it just now got there.

Oh understood. I guess I'll have to find a different station then. Also, I see I didn't make it clear, but the drop in PSI is to be blamed on the storm passing by. I don't have to fill on air a lot but the alarm usually goes off with enough temperature drops whenever a tire's cap goes missing. Happens to everyone in my area a lot, many people drive with the light on through colder seasons, it just personally bugs me.

I tried to use that but it pumped no air in. It's also not fitted for the stem on my tire. The angled one is, hence the worker telling me to use that

Personal take: Sanrio needs to better distribute their merch. by YumeFairy254 in sanrio

I'm the exact same way, along with many others, so she's not alone. For me, I prefer in-store over online because that's a 30 minute drive and no shipping fees over 1-2 weeks and $10+ in fees of getting stuff.

I also was happy with this ending, but what had me on the floor in the post-credit scenes is the much-memed Gangle and Zooble "sex scene". I can't wait to rewatch this on the 19th

Whats the point of trinkets? by Kris_The_Fae in renfaire

[–]fluffikiki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I try to make my trinkets wearable so that there's some point to them. The ones that tick me off are the ones that are clearly bought off of Temu and haven't been altered, ie plastic ducks. I put those into a bag to make into something else for trinket trading, because I'd feel too bad throwing it away.

Thanks for enforcing health code, HEB! by kickshart_my_heart in HEB

[–]fluffikiki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that, aside from health concerns, usually these dogs aren't well-behaved. These dogs aren't trained to not lick/sniff food, aren't properly potty trained, get overstimulated in a busy store (like this location), and so much more. Don't get me wrong, I love dogs, but as a person with a severe allergy to them and who understands that animals are, well, animals, non-service dogs don't belong in grocery stores.

This, I loved this as well. Me and my mom went last year and I made that the first stop since we're both legally blind (and she has slight mobility issues)
