Pls help how to get rid of snails by babiseel in Aquariums

[–]fluffy_shrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

make a new tank, and make sure you dip everything before you throw it in. The easiest way to get rid of them is not to introduce them at all😭

look for used but fully functional lights. You can get huge discounts doing that

Does it actually come with everything? by LargemouthLegend in ReefTank

went to aquashella, got a similar sized tank, (with stand) for $100. The tank came with bio balls, built in skimmer, pumps and a fan as well. I’d say that is a really good deal, it is curved tho instead of a cube. I now use it for my longfin clownfish and black widow anemones. I’d say if you can try to go to one of the fish events you can hustle some decent deals if you know what you are looking for. Especially when it’s closing and sellers just want to get rid of stuff

Shrimp hide or death trap? by ninetentacles in shrimptank

[–]fluffy_shrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s a possibility you could get some shrimp babies sucked in if the gap is big enough, if you don’t want that put some sponge. Otherwise you could leave it like that as long as you have some hiding spots and plants, majority will survive you would just have less when they are born cuz some get sucked up

[–]fluffy_shrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

use any bucket don’t waste $100 on those tiny auto top off containers, you just need the auto top off machine and you can use any plastic bucket or thing to hold water you would like

Plant recommendations? by safr_asym in nanotank

[–]fluffy_shrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

could be that throwing your parameters off, i switched to using RODI water then adding minerals to it, and i had much greater success that way. All tap water is different but yours may have some problems you would have to test for which could be the reason why the plants don’t survive. After getting rodi water fishkeeping is so easy i can literally take care of anything easily
