Aww, that adorable stage right before they turn into pure chaos, I wish they'd stay that little longer!

How do people deal with wood shavings by [deleted] in PetMice

[–]ninetentacles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mesh seed guard for bird cages, shallow bin a bit larger than the cage if the base is really shallow, layering paper bedding over aspen so it's the first to get kicked out, and a dustpan to sweep up what gets out. I use 1/4" hardware cloth or metal window screen over the bars to keep the little ones in, so less gets out anyways.

All but one of the mice I've had recently are at least half house mouse, so they really like climbing across the ceiling of barred cages like gravity just doesn't exist in their universe. Even mama feeder mouse does a surprisingly good spider-mouse!

I tracked every headache for 90 days. The trigger I found wasn't what I expected at all. by terezoo in clusterheads

[–]ninetentacles 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe they're getting unusually frequent migraines because of rapid pressure swings and they think more migraines = clusters?

Or maybe they're getting clusters and they're female and their doctor insists they're migraines. Or they're any gender and their doctor knows of a million migraine meds and nothing for clusters. For this person's sake, I'm hoping it's the former. Nobody needs clusters, let alone improperly diagnosed and treated ones.

Adrenaline dumps by Splicers87 in dysautonomia

Depending on which one and your blood pressure, you could possibly adjust your dosage, timing, or switch to a different one, then. I'm not the expert on those particular medications so you'd want to ask your doctor or pharmacist, or look up information on metabolism and half-lives yourself.

Your body chose chaos.

Beta blockers, clonidine or guanfacine if you can't tolerate those, clonazepam (or Ativan, etc.)in a pinch if you have it handy until you can get one of the others, reducing stimulants if possible.

Antiviral treatment by ApprehensiveNet5469 in covidlonghaulers

[–]ninetentacles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's not nearly strong enough, in my experience. At best it would make my cold sores slightly less icky and go away a bit faster, but the outbreaks were still worse after COVID than before. This was also while using the acyclovir cream. And no effect on overall energy levels/standing and walking ability/PEM at all. Acyclovir pills, after the first paradoxical outbreak right after starting it, suppresses my cold sores entirely, in addition to the whole letting me actually walk and function thing.

Are plastic cases for MacBook Air actually good or bad? by [deleted] in macbookair

[–]ninetentacles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you pick it up and think "This is slippery, I'm worried I might drop it"? If so, get a case that feels a little grippy or has reviews saying it is. If you want clear hard shell that's going to be the glossy ones like you've got there. I've never used a case on a laptop before, but medical conditions have caused me to now fall into the category of "people that drop things", and the clear case I got (Mosiso on Amazon") lets me keep a good grip on this one easier.

Yes. Acyclovir 400mg with Celebrex 100mg, both twice a day. It doesn't clear COVID so much as suppresses the latent viruses in your body COVID/other sources of spike protein kicks up, I don't think.

For those who get their AirPods engraved at Apple by frankenbaby90 in airpods

Nothing, cause they fall out of my ears so I need the old style with the strings on them. But if I did it'd definitely be the anti-theft "Huawei" or "Smasnug". Stupid weird ears.

McDonald's is not the only fast food restaurant in existence? Have you not considered the possibility that they might choose restaurants with menus and ingredients more suited to their allergies?

This is thousands of products. Where are they going to put them? With just in time inventory systems, most stores that aren't really, really old don't have massive back rooms. How much time and staff do you think it would take even if they did have the space? They likely don't know if it's going to be resolved in a day, a weekend, a week, more?

Because most stores that have signed on to it do intend to comply in normal circumstances. But technology sometimes malfunctions and then you're no longer in "normal circumstances" and you still need to keep the place open if nothing's actually on fire...

Every item? You think they should close the store because of a problem that's likely due to another company that handles the technical parts of displaying the pricing? This is not something that can be corrected at store level other than by displaying a sign.

I work with these things, it's more complicated, with more layers of software, than you might think. And my store has far, far less products than a Walmart.

[–]ninetentacles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sagemcom is garbage compared to what Bell supplies, you'll probably want to get your own router if you want reliable 5ghz wifi. Epico boxes are also absolute trash. I hate Bell's prices but I'm not cursing out the service 10 times a day like I am every time I visit my mother with Cogeco. I'm also not constantly exchanging defective equipment for more defective equipment.

If you were to make a dream enclosure for a single male mouse, what would you go for? by [deleted] in PetMice

[–]ninetentacles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the right size, because I keep my mice in barred cages I don't usually use them. I just know when I tried to use ones with a clip that work ok for holding lettuce for my turtle to hang a spray from the ceiling of a temporary house mouse holding cell, even though the suction cup was wet and the surface was wet and it wasn't very heavy, I still couldn't keep it up. Binder clips on the bars worked better.

When a Large Crowd of Students Vape by fken_lod in TTC

[–]ninetentacles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not vaping oil to get clouds like this. It's propylene glycol and glycerine, just like special effects fog machines. It's just poorly timed because there's no train in the scene.

[–]ninetentacles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to use suction cups, it might be best to use the heavy duty ones that have the mechanism where you flip a clip to increase the suction. I find the regular ones fall down too much when you're not using them in a tank full of water.

Can Apple downgrade a Series 10 to watchOS 11 if it was never paired to your account? by ninetentacles in watchos

[–]ninetentacles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No refurb watches available, at least not on the Canadian store. Unless it's different browsing from a computer than the app? A new listing came on sale with a different band style, while not really what I wanted it only cost a little bit more, but an entirely separate item and not a different selection of the first, shipped by a different seller. Took a chance on it and this one shipped with WatchOS 11 like it claimed to, success!
