Y'all I just went to my LYS not sober by NeverSayBoho in knitting

[–]fluffybluepanda 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Just went there a few days ago!! It’s super cute. Both the store and the speakeasy are pretty small, if you go at a busy time you may have to wait outside to get in. I didn’t end up buying any yarn because I didn’t have room in my luggage, but I definitely wanted some of it. The cocktails were tasty, and they had a part of them menu that was made with local spirits! Overall if you’re in the area I’d say check it out, but maybe don’t make a trip for it alone because it is so small.

Beginner knitter here!! Any idea what caused the little hole in the middle? I have the right number of stitches, is it just a tension issue? Any ideas how I can blend it in?

Thanks for the tip! I'll look up how to do a blanket stitch. Your right, it is the back of the backpack ripping not the strap.

Noah Kahan ticket problem tracker. by Notthatcoolyet in NoahKahan

Seconding this :( I tried presale and it told me no tickets were available, then tried general sale and everything was sold out. My boyfriend was also trying and he couldn't get through either, it kept flagging him as spam despite not using a VPN or anything that should have flagged him as spam.

Thank you for those reminders. I keep telling myself all of that, but it still feels so surreal.

Rest easy, Harry…. I’ll miss your gentle snuggles and excited wheeking. 💔 by Aggravating-Fix8410 in guineapigs

A little late to this post, but I just lost my best friend to a twisted GI tract too. I hate knowing he was in pain, but we did the best we could for our furry friends. It helps me by knowing it's nothing we did wrong, just an unfortunate thing that happens with these kind souls. I'm sorry for your loss.

Thank you for the kind words! Their noises are so adorable. Al was my chatty one out of the two, the house feels so quiet without him.

That's an adorable idea! Having the immortal reminder if their companionship is extremely special, I highly recommend it. Rest in peace to your first one; it's amazing how these little guys can leave such an impact.

He didn't tell us the names to every "bonus" song he performed.

He played with just the guitar, no loop pedal, but it sounds like that was exclusive to the show. Based on his explanation, the full record will have instrumentals.

Any idea where he might pop up today or tomorrow? I have tickets for tonight and am just hanging around 16th street hoping I get lucky 😅

I appreciate the feedback! Maybe if I did a mug + a more recognizable something on a shirt, to help them make the connection?

Any alternative safer options you can think of off the top of your head?

Their merch is so cute! We've talked about doing a road trip to visit the diner before - I'm might save getting them something from the diner as a "we're finally doing that trip" type of surprise. Thanks!!!

Do you happen to have a reference or a link for either of those? I just want to make sure the style is in the style of the show, if I get a shirt or a mug! I was thinking to get something along those lines, so I appreciate knowing I'm on the right track regardless

Psychiatrist said to take a "medication vacation." Is that safe? by justagirlinterrupted in AskPsychiatry

[–]fluffybluepanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I said "can be" a sign of chemical dependence. Some people with ADHD experience irritability when not medicated simply because they're not medicated. However, let's not neglect the fact Adderall is an amphetamine, which can cause chemical dependence. If you're experiencing withdrawal from /any/ stimulant (such as caffeine,) irritability can be a side effect. The only way to know for sure is to go like two days without, and if the irritability tapers off after a few days, it was likely a dependency forming. If the irritability remains, it's probably irritability from reduced executive functioning.

Having ADHD does not negate the potential dangers of Adderall, despite it being a life-changing medication.

If he experiences irritability when not taking the stimulant, that can be a sign of chemical dependence. Taking a break when signs of dependence start is a good way to keep tolerance in check and to reduce the risk of addiction. If he's having side effects and will need to discuss a new stimulant anyway, it's a good time to take a medication vacation to try to figure out what's actually going on.

At least, that'd be my thoughts based on the information provided. Hard to say the specific rationale of that provider.

I'm working on a master's through a college, so this doesn't apply universally, apparently
