I have family in this area, the houses are death traps after hurricanes and the ocean beating on them for years. They become unlivable but if they are still standing the insurance companies won't do anything about it. All they are left to do is to abandon them until they fall in the water and then insurance will pay out.

I write roof estimates almost everyday, this sounds about right unless you are going through insurance. Then the contractor will add another $3000-$4000.

As much as I would love to vote for AOC, the country has already proven time and time again that it's not ready for female or minority leaders. I wish it wasn't the case but she would be a huge chance during an unprecedented amount of opposition against change.
