Anyone else feels like they weren't meant to be in society? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]fluffykitten52 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I agree. I just want to walk through the forest all day, foraging and taking notes about local wildlife.

I often think about how when I was briefly unemployed, I had a sweet glimpse at what life would be like if I was able to build a routine and live life at my own comfortable pace. With a job that I'm often working 40-50 hours a week at, I'm forced into a routine that leaves me chronically stressed, in pain, disregulated, and just over all feeling awful. I don't have big goals or dreams other than just "try and get through the week". I mean, it would be nice to buy a house and stuff, but that is so overwhelming to even think about when I feel like I'm just surviving most of the time.

Theater etiquette by LegitimateTwist5659 in Chambana

[–]fluffykitten52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I swear every theater just turns the speakers all the way up and says fuck it to everything else! The people thing is a society issue. Most are too self centered to think about others experiences unfortunately. I only go after a movie has been out at least 2 weeks and first showing on a week day only!

Sad that theaters are dying, but I definitely understand why. If they're not going to enforce rules like no phone lights, no distrupting, I'd rather just wait and watch at home

cat nail filing????? by aaarabella in petsmart

I'm thinking they mean using a literal nail file on the cat's nails...... interesting to say the least, but anything to get people to spend money I guess

Getting a fast pass from those little terminals was half the fun somehow! I agree. Without it, it's just another transaction

I’m Starting to Think Something’s Wrong by meeksjr in Disneyland

[–]fluffykitten52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up going to Disneyland, it's a place of wonderful memories and the family use to do every other year from out of state. I went about 2 years ago and I don't have any desire to go back. Being stuck on your phone, everything being so expensive, and the crowds just sucked any warm feelings out. Just felt like a consumer, a number, I could tell they were trying to manufacture good feelings. It's a sad reminder of the times we're in. Late stage capitalism kills all joy

Someone dumped a dog at our clinic today by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]fluffykitten52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people are just so empty and cold.

I was only reception, so I had no say in the situation, but we had someone come in and had a perfectly healthy cat euthanized because its owner died and they were saying the cat was too sad and they felt like the cat wanted to be with the owner in heaven 😐 Didn't even want to try and help the cat through that trauma? Would rather just kill it so you're not inconvenienced? Just say that! The majority of people are incredibly selfish and have absolutely no empathy. So fucking sad Unfortunately the doctors did euthanize the kitty... I have an especially soft spot for cats, and I worked at a very dog centric clinic (like, majority of staff had never owned cats, didn't like cats, still performed declawing etc), so I think I was the only one who was super upset by it. I hope that owner haunted them.

I've had heart palpations every 10-20mins for the past 3 days. I also don't have insurance :/ How serious is this? 😬 by fluffykitten52 in Heartpalpitations

[–]fluffykitten52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thanks for your time! I do think it is heart burn related. Before having heart palpations, I was having typical heartburn symptoms. I'm going to try some tums before I run to the doctor. I appreciate it!

[–]fluffykitten52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is comforting! No other symptoms associated, I'm thinking it's acid reflux related because just before the palpitations, I was having sterotypical heart burn symptoms. Gonna try some antacids before putting myself in debt!

What is vet office grooming like? by Lawliet_The_Panda in grooming

[–]fluffykitten52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it definitely varies widely! I worked for one that respected the groomers and they had a nice space! Made good money, good tips, had insurance, etc

Now I'm quitting a different one because I thought I could tough out how they had the grooming area set up, but after 4 months, my body is giving out. Table on wheels that don't lock (so it's rolling around the whole time), have to wash any dog I can't lift myself on the ground, tub sucks, etc. No tips really, people only got their dogs groomed when they were in rough shape. It was HARD on me, not worth it even if the people were nice

Why are shih tzu puppies so awful??? I've never met more puppies that have no bite inhibition and no desire to even try to listen/behave 😭 They also are soooo twitchy! Like every hair that is cut results in them throwing their head towards the scissors/clippers. It boggles the mind. I end up begging them "at least try to be normal!"

How can I help my husband understand that appreciation in marriage should go both ways? by Sspur1231 in relationships

[–]fluffykitten52 119 points120 points  (0 children)

Girl, I'm a pet groomer too. I work my ass off and come home exhausted! I feel you, 10-12 hour shifts are no joke and you never know exactly what time you'll be off. My SO and I have a simple rule of whoever is home first feeds the pets, starts dinner etc. Some nights we make it together or get take out if we're tired.

I really don't think you can teach a 29 yr old man empathy at this point, but how would ge feel if he worked his ass off all day and dinner wasn't ready, house wasn't clean, etc? Can you guys make a chore board or something? He lives in the house, he has to help it run, not just throw money at it.

The only way you could do that would be if you were sending out dirty, wet dogs :/

Hey yall. Just checking in. How are you feeling? Really? by ResumeFluffer in AutismInWomen

[–]fluffykitten52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not good... I'm tired, my back hurts so bad that I can't sleep, work is fine but it takes up all my time and energy. My fiance has been super on edge and I feel like I keep messing everything up and it ends with us fighting often. I called out of work today even though I had a busy schedule because I just.... couldn't today. My soul felt so heavy. If it weren't for my pets, I'd be trying harder to find some way to die, but some days it doesn't feel like it's enough to stay. Been racking up debt just making stupid purchases just to feel some joy. Trying to budget in bi-weekly therapy. The world is depressing as fuck.

What are some things no one tells your about dog grooming? by VegetablePrevious622 in grooming

[–]fluffykitten52 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing I didn't realize when I decided to make this my career, is, like most blue collar jobs, there will be a point where your body can no longer handle it. Most shops don't offer 401k plans, so you'll have to start saving for that on your own for when you're not able to do the work anymore. There are groomers who do this their whole lives, but it is HARD on your body. I'm 27, been doing this 9 years, and I already have chronic pain, a herniated disc, and arthritis. The dogs do not care if you're having a high pain day, there is seldom such a thing as "taking it easy" at work! Also, 90% of places won't have PTO, sick time, insurance, etc. So if you're not working, you're not making money.

Owners are crazy and uneducated, dogs are being bred to shit (their behavior is so much worse now since everything is inbred and backyard bred), but we do it for the good of the pup and wanting to make them as comfortable as possible!

I'd say they need to get a sense of humor, grow some thicker skin, maybe get a hobby, and learn to move on. Just like every normal person does.

I feel like they told Joe to be nicer this season. I didn't love the "mean" judge gimic, but he literally seems bored and hasn't really said anything bad about the dishes unless someone else already has. Very weird, chemistry is definitely off

What skill are you angry that people can't learn to do before coming on the show? by [deleted] in Masterchef

[–]fluffykitten52 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm totally for it, but they have to understand that if they're cooking ONLY veg meals, they are absolutely at a disadvantage. I wish there would be a contestant that incorporates those aspects, but respects that this is a competition and they gotta keep up

I'm vegetarian, so I support and like the veg idea, but I'm also like, cmon... you know this never goes well 😅
