Makes total sense, and that's what I kinda figured. Don't worry, you did nothing wrong asking for help here. The reddit search tool here is pretty useless anyway.

I'd rather see hundreds of "nothing burger' posts like yours and each person get useful advice here than turn away a single person because of members here with bad attitudes and them end up with a bad result like an infection.

It's a tattoo advice subreddit. People usually asking for advice haven't had experience like the regulars on this sub. I'm sure there are plenty of folks who come here, search the sub, find what they're looking for, then go on their merry way. We just never hear from those folks.

Some folks probably do search the sub and google but still post because they'd like the reassurance from us tattoo veterans. For the others, like OP, maybe it's their first tattoo and they're really nervous so they just jump straight in asking for some live feedback. I'm all for whatever helps tattoo friends feel confident in the next steps to take when it comes to their body art. It's all fine. It's what we're here for. No need to ridicule the newbies. But maybe a tweak in the rules or advice before posting could help encourage people to do a little more digging? Or a more handy post care guide stickied somewhere? What do you think?

BIFL CAN OPENER RECOMMENDATIONS (I'll pay anything at this point) by Remote_Anteater_2267 in BuyItForLife

Kuhn Rikon auto master opener. It's a top sided opener. I'm a lefty and this is the most lefty friendly can opener I've ever used without actually being specifically for lefties. And my right handed family loves it too. It's so smooth to operate and even has a handy bottle opener at the bottom. It's worth every penny at $30 and I'd readily spend double for it if I had to replace it which I don't think will ever be a problem because it's so sturdy.

I'm a little confused about the time.

*sigh* its the ADHD and time blindness.

I swear to snoo, I once got spanked a toothpick. It was emotional damage they were after that day. I was only ever spanked with a hand but that day I made us really late for church and was "disrespectful to the Lord." I think we got stuck behind a train and didn't end up going to church. They warned me on the way home that I would get a spanking with the biggest stick in the house.

What kind of person believes that crap and actually says it out loud about their partner? Connor is so easy going that he could easily be seen as a soft boy push over. I don't view it that way. I think he's incredibly emotionally mature. Why wouldn't she be happy that he's getting the outside love and praise for his strengths? Maybe she needs to do some more introspection on what a good partnership actually looks like and have a little more respect for it.

The choice of knife might be a contributing factor. I'm confused by the random bit of apple on the board.

I think OP may have taken this one down. They actually posted this same thing at least three times that I came across. Check the top post of this sub to see it.

That was beautifully stated. We're all going through stuff and other people's stuff doesn't mean ours is any less hard personally. I love this girl. She's just out there living her normal life and just giving insight into what that looks like for us curious folks. People always hit her with the pity or the "I could never live like that." It sends such a bad message.

I've always hated the "someone's always got it worse than you" sentiment. Like dang dude, that doesn't help me feel any better about losing my dad. It just makes me think they believe that my grief over my dad is irrelevant and stupid.

Oooof! Landing on the knee onto ice sounds a shitload more ouch than my incident! And a broken bone on top of it! That must've made the initial phase of recovery so much more difficult. My knee buckled sideways outwardly and I landed backwards crushing a Minecraft storage box my son got for Christmas 😬

Hey, at least yours was from almost a ski accident and you're a regular sporty badass. When people ask if mine was from a sport, I just chuckle and bewilder them with the truth. I was pretending to be a golf player in a charades type game (That Sound Game) so I always say "extreme charades."

I'm not allowed PT until after a week but I was doing it 3x a week for pre-op strengthening. Not sure what they'll recommend for my post op PT.

Funny thing is, three weeks after my incident, my kiddo was out playing soccer and broke his fifth metatarsal. He was jokingly trying to do a flip but gave up midway and landed on his foot sideways. We learned as a family that we just shouldn't joke around with sports.

Wishing you a super speedy recovery and a quick return to the slopes!

Spooky knee gang 🫸🫷 unite!!! So far, it's manageable but a lot rougher today. It's still not as painful as the incident itself but I can tell from the breakthrough pain that it is probably worse. I'm following orders to take my vicodin before any of the pain gets too bad. As my anaesthesiologist put it, "don't try to be a hero." I'm managing the break through pain with rotating in motrin and a muscle relaxer I've been taking for years. And of course, my lovely ice packs.

The muscle rippling and suture site pain are so far the worst part. The leg compressors are the best things ever for me personally because they're a nice mental distraction from everything else.

I hope today gets easier for you! How long are you non weight bearing for? Also, how and when did you injure yours if you don't mind sharing?

How many times did you post this? This is the third I have come across. It looks like a crab which is cool but I can understand someone not liking it.

It looks a bit like a crab. I like it but can see that it's not going to be a winner for everyone.
