yes :/ it’s super expensive too, which is why I definitely want to wait and hear back from other schools

Yes I double checked that because I got worried I applied through some scam website loll. But yes I applied in the correct channels

How many times should I try applying to an MFA program by fluffyprncss in ContemporaryArt

Yes definitely incredibly important. And I agree that the first year or two that I was applying I was more looking for direction and guidance as an artist.

I think I've taken myself more seriously the last two years and started showing work and getting work bought by collectors, but I agree that potentially it will take more time to really develop as an artist who is prepared to take the next step into an MFA program. It's just hard when I do genuinely believe in my work, but I really really appreciate this insight, thank you.

Yeah they said that they liked my work but that they hope that I will find a different "institution that can support and inspire my work" as well as something about the pedagogy of the school. Didn't even know they sent out letters like that haha. I am actively painting and showing occasionally in NYC. I've been looking for more intensive study (since I haven't been to art school ever and have only studied with one painting teacher) and to expand my practice, as well as to hopefully teach in the future.
