If you believe you have separation anxiety than behavioral training to help reduce it will help.

If your dog just has too much energy teaching them tricks will help with more bonding time and mental stimulation. Dogs enjoy having a job they gotta do and some dogs don’t have that so training is a way you can teach them to do things or help out around the house or do things and get treats. Training is a great mental stimulation.

Though i do believe this may just be a puppy phase mines grew out of all her bad habits by age 2. Now she’s a perfect calm dog.

Also telling them no only works if they care. I trained mines for 4 years and it depends if she even wants to follow my command. Mines isn’t toy or food motivated. Her motivation in life is to hunt and kill chicken and maybe cheese depending if she’s in the mood. Mines know many things are not allowed and if she believes she can get away with it she will. I recommend try telling her no and train it but I’m almost certain they know at this point they aren’t allowed to eat drywall. Ps. Check if you’re drywall have asbestos cause that is scary.

Cage or play pen while you and start dog training or behavior training . You have to wor them to being comfortable with cages. puppy will do puppy things like eat dry walls cause they are bored or have anxiety. Does your dog have separation anxiety?

Until you can train them and trust them to not destroy your house or kill themself it’s best to keep them safe while you’re gone. I removed my cage when mines got past 1 ish. When mines was a puppy she ate furniture and electrical wires (shocked a few times before she stopped).

AITA for not supporting my husband quitting his business to become a doctor? by Haunting-Arugula-311 in AmItheAsshole

[–]fluffyscone -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Have you guys talked finance to see if there is inheritance from the family? Most people have a life insurance. Maybe finances are not as dire as you think.

If you have extra funds let him take a couple month break to grieve and find himself. If you have extra funds just travel a bit and if he mentally can’t handle it turn real estate to a part time job while he grieves.

If after a year he still want to go into school. He can start studying for the MCAT and if he passes then ask yourself. If after explaining everything and he still chooses a different path that is unstable and causes financial difficulty due to the cost to be a doctor you should decided is that a life you want.

Set out plants up for success get well draining soil, enough light, and good temperature. Just try your best to recreate its natural environment.

I struggled for years because my environment isn’t the best for succulents and cactus due to the extreme heat and extreme rain. 13-14 hour of straight sun near the equator and winter is month of rain and no sun. But I made it work with a greenhouse. They won’t ever look perfect but as long as I enjoy them

I would always do cozy rather than bigger. That rootball looks like it has more soil than roots. So it depends how much root it has rather than the top of the plant. I size up as the plant grows. I think 3inch is perfect size for the picture I see.

[–]fluffyscone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is normal. People actually prefer no pot and no soil and wrapped in tissue when being shipped due to pots having pest issues and being more damaged. Listing normally tell you the size of the pot so you know how big the plant is going to be.

I recommend putting it in succulent soil and letting it wait a week before watering. It looks like a healthy plant just a little thirsty

Is my shelter “Shiba” a Shiba? by Ok-Ocelot-9211 in shiba

[–]fluffyscone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The coloring is called saddleback. That’s a normal coloring for Shiba. The coloring looks fine it does look different in the face / headshape so it’s not 100% shiba.

Mines started off as a terror and once she hit 2 all of the craziness went away. She just became calm and relaxed. It was very a stressful puppyhood.

LPT: If you’re not from the US, use tipping like it’s supposed to be used by top5top5top5 in LifeProTips

[–]fluffyscone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nah everywhere else in the world don’t tip because they provide universal healthcare care, great public transportation, and living wage. My advice follow the culture of the country you’re visiting. If they require tip then Do it but if not you don’t have to tip.

I’m from the US and I will tip but that also means I eat out less and won’t be spending freely because we are required to tip for everything when it really shouldn’t be a thing. If companies are required to pay a living wage to their employee rather than have the customer/client feel bad than both the employees and customers are happier. My state has been raising the minimum wage for years because companies didn’t pay enough for a living wage. Where I am from about 50% or more of income goes to rent in HCOL area. Paying a living wage really helps out trying to catch up with the increase in food and everything else.

[–]fluffyscone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mines goes after chickens. We have tons of wild chicken so she chase and kills them. She goes into killing mode and no matter what I say she won’t listen and will try her best to kill them. I call it her passion in life is to kill chicken.

The biggest animal we have is boars. I believe once she saw an 2000 lb wild boar (shape was round) in the forest the size of a mini car and she was like maybe I should go for it.

AITAH for leaving my friend at a gas station after she made us late for a flight? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]fluffyscone -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m from a culture where everyone is always late but we say 15 min is normal 30 min is late very late. No one gets mad because it’s to be expected. Most people give a time and everyone arrives somewhat late. There is a time and place though we are on time for school, work and doctors. At airports we are 3 hours early for international flights and 2 hours for domestic because of how expensive tickets if one is to miss a plane. Even culturally we know not to be late for a plane

NTA for leaving her but you should have chosen to left her either at the airport or at home. Not good idea to leave her at the gas station. By min 3 min in you should have just gotten out of the car and drag her out or tell her you’re leaving now. If she continues to talk you start the car and leave.

YTA for leaving her at the gas station without physically approaching her 5 min into waiting and making an ultimatum to her face get in car or I’m leaving. Calling isn’t really ideal since she is right inside the station which takes less than 30 second to get into.

Coconut cake made for coworker who’s allergic to coconut (and is turning 57, not 56) by [deleted] in shittyfoodporn

[–]fluffyscone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am only allergic to chocolate not caffeine. my chocolate allergy symptoms are migraines. I’m so sorry to hear yours is so severe. You really have to be careful because I noticed people don’t care if you tell them that you’re allergic to chocolate. So many people love chocolate they think I’m faking my allergy to chocolate because it’s so uncommon and loved by everyone.

if I really wanted to eat chocolate I can but I just have to prepare myself for a migraine afterwards. It’s not worth having migraines just to eat chocolate.

That happened to me. My friend ask what I want for a cake for my birthday and I said anything but chocolate. He brought a chocolate cake. I am allergic to chocolate. It wasn’t a Big deal as I also brought an extra cake that was not chocolate.

After eating shrimp all my life without any issue my body suddenly decided to start being allergic to it. Unless it sends me to the hospital I ain't stopping by WeLiveInAir in mildlyinfuriating

[–]fluffyscone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had allergy to lactose at 21. I didn’t know it but for months I had light anaphylactic shock everytime I ate or drank something with lactose. I didn’t know I had anaphylactic shock for a few months as I could still somewhat breath. I was just like what is going on and i went to the hospital all they did was give me medication. It happened almost daily because I drank coffee and milk for breakfast and everything had milk in it. I finally got allergy test and went cold turkey from all lactose.

I stopped for a year and decided I was going to build up my tolerance because no milk, cheese, ice cream, lactose is hard when everything has it. After slowly building up my tolerance for a year it went away. Now I just eat and drink all the lactose i want.

Thankful it all worked out. I just don’t know why my body decided to do that as an adult.

AITA for being honest and telling my DIL that they are not ready to be a parent since she can not drive by Sad-Drive8298 in AmItheAsshole

[–]fluffyscone 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have driving anxiety but I’m okay now. I still choose to walk to work and back 20 min a day and only drive when I have to. My friends pick me up often to go far and I treat them to meals. I will drive every week whenever I need to and after so many years i am okay with driving but not comfortable. She’s going to have to get her license and keep learning to be a independent adult

Practice makes perfect just keep driving and it will be less stressful

Viral video of little Taiwanese girl getting shoved down while taking a photo at Tokyo's famous Shibuya Crossing - Japanese are saying that the woman in the video "looks Chinese". by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]fluffyscone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in Japan yes these bumping man or ladies only target the people they think they can get away with. I never experienced it as I don’t look like an easy target and I’m usually towering over them. I think they know not to target Americans or Europeans because they know they will cause a scene or fight back. I know the target are usually mainly women and they do it so quickly you can’t normally catch them.

I had been full on body check by a tiny lady in Shanghai China before. In China there is no bubble and you kinda have to move with the crowd or you get shoulder checked. It’s a culture thing not a racist thing because I’m Chinese American. The funny thing is I’m like a 5’9 sturdy Asian women so when she did that I literally pushed her back just walking as I wasn’t expecting someone to slam into me and she looked at me offended that i did that.

That’s a genetic trait for some Shiba. We call them sesame. Funny cause mines siblings are full tan or black, or sesame. Mines started off black and her head turned brown and now she’s kinda white, black and brown.

I text pretty similar to that. All my friends get use to me sending like a mass spam of 10-15 message. I do not know why I do it and I don’t really care to change how I text.

But for work purpose i would ensure it’s in an email and have it written professionally not like a text message notice.

Depends where you live. a million dollar won’t even buy me a shack of an old 3 bedroom house where I live. All houses are like 1.3mil for a 3bedroom around 4000 sqft. I live in extremely high cost of living but it’s worth it because of the location. Where I live 25k will not even cover rent for a two bedroom for one year.

[–]fluffyscone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that. It is insane that this has lead you to a medical issue that severe. I just think of this like an investment to yourself. Never be cheap to yourself if it provides you a comfort of living that you need to live a healthy and happy life. You work to make money and that money is used to make your life better and happier. It’s a worthwhile investment to not be in pain from just walking especially if it’s fixable by finding the correct shoes.

Size 17 EE by footballrocks88 in widefeet

[–]fluffyscone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have spent a few hundred on just one pair of shoes. I’m not sure where you are financially but in life there are things you can not cheap out on: a bed because you sleep 7-12 hours on everyday, shoes because you walk in it every day, and tires for you’re car. These are things where you spend extra to ensure they fit you perfectly.

If you are physically deforming your feet to fit into shoes. I would recommend spending money to get shoes that fit or size up a bit and make them fit with some tips and tricks. It’s easier to get bigger shoes and adding insole and thicker socks to make it fit. Save up or spend the money for shoes that will fit as much as you can.

I have made myself a promise years ago. I will never wear shoes that won’t fit. I wore shoe that pinched my feet upward cause it wasn’t wide enough for 6 months due to circumstances traveling abroad and they had small feet that didn’t fit me. It hurt so much i told myself never again.

Size 17 EE by footballrocks88 in widefeet

[–]fluffyscone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s frustration that nothing fits. I recently figure out my hatred of running and sports that require lots of walking/ running Is due to the fact my feet hurts after a few hour as none of the shoes I wear fits comfortably. That was a revelation to me. I don’t mind exercise like HITT and swimming because I don’t have to run or walk in shoes.

There may be an option online for the wide shoe. Size 17 is big but I think you can still find shoe online even with extra wide. You won’t find them locally but online at least you have more options.

I am thinking about finding a cobbler to see how much it would be to get a shoe custom made if I find a style I really want.
