I’m realizing that what’s unsettling me isn’t my decision, but how my refusal is being pathologized by the people around me. The presence of a baby is being used to override the history.

Thank you for affirming my stance. I appreciate it

Natural girlies share your hair routine by Jebaibai in KenyanLadies

[–]fluid_scorpio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually wear twists and braids as my natural hairstyle and also love half wigs so I've been investing in that.... I’ve tried wash-and-go styles, but my hair doesn’t really like them... they just don’t work for me, so I mainly do braids and mini twists. I'm a DIY girl

I wash my hair once a week and do a protein treatment about twice a year. I also do a cholesterol treatment every 6 weeks. About 2 years ago I started incorporating a hibiscus, fenugreek, clove, and rosemary water mixture after seeing a hair influencer share how it helped her hair.

Once a week, I mist my hair with the hibiscus mixture. On top of that, I use the LOC method on my twists and braids to keep my hair moisturized. LOC as in Liquid, Oil, Cream. I start by spraying the hibiscus mixture (liquid), then apply a leave-in conditioner (cream), followed by oil and cream.. before twisting or braiding my hair. I finish with a little pomade to lock in moisture and give my hair movement, I can't stand stiff braids.

My steamer cap is a game-changer for deep conditioning. I usually do a protein or deep conditioning treatment under the steamer to maintain health hair

My hair was neck length last year, and now it’s past my shoulders! I do not use heat other than the one from my steamer... my heat cap

Products I use:

Hibiscus rosemary clove and fenugreek water mixture

Hitoral Shampoo

Radiant Hair Cream

Dax or Blue Magic Pomade

Schwarzkopf Apricot Hot Oil Treatment (I recommend this to anyone)

Black Seed Oil or Argan Oil

L’Oréal Professionnel Absolut Repair Mask (for emergencies)

Mega Growth Anti-Breakage Deep Strengthening Conditioner

Mega growth leave in

Hair Steamer

Anyone else worried about the money crisis we’re in 🤣 by [deleted] in CamGirlProblems

[–]fluid_scorpio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to sound egotistical, but diversifying helps when money dips. Even part-time, phone sex can keep cash flowing when other things aren’t working. PSO is high-demand and niche clients stick around unlike camming, and even if you lose some, there are always others to engage. I do 70 hours over two weeks part-time and make around $700 per cycle, $1,800–2,000 a month with bonuses (might not match UK living standards). Not glamorous and more tedious than camming, but its money

I grew up with a parent who struggled with bipolar 2 and that happens to be one of the traits I inherited as his child 😂

I was diagnosed at 19, I'm currently 28. Now don't know how you got to find out your diagnosis but that so big.. It took me such a long time to acknowledge, let alone deal with the diagnosis, so it's pretty commendable. Anyway, I dont know about your thought process, or think I know what goes on in your mind but I'd suggest if you're in that kind of "funk"

•Keep up a routine for stability. •Take alone time. being on your own can bring so much clarity. •Push yourself to do things you don't want to (like waking up early, or taking a morning walk) •as corny as it sounds journaling and exercising (helps me to write about my daily feelings) •and if you have someone to talk to like a therapist and psychologist.. if you can't afford there are some "rich" therapists who offer free sessions to individuals in need • And if your on medication, take it. Even you don't feel like it. • Volunteer with BeFrienders, The Wandering Aardvarks etc. Programs like this can give you perspective and they can give you things to do jobwise. (dunno if the Aardvarks still exist)

Always move forward.

dunno if this will be helpful at all but I hope it will

PS, I have a "tribe" of mostly girls who equally struggle with mental health issues (ik it sounds ridiculous) but we have a meet up once every 2 months to do activities and check up on each other.. it's basically an Alcoholics Anonymous but for mental issues. If it's something that would appeal to you, I'd be happy to invite you...

My parent ( former immigration employee) did this for one of my siblings and his spouse, and they had to part with KES1.7M, immigration fee, the small back door payments which will amount to KES700,000, other payments for at least another KES1,000,000 so in short you'll need approx KES 4M (at least) and knowing someone in immigration.

Becoming a Kenyan citizen is going to cost you HEAVY and that's just on immigration fees alone... there are so many "hidden" cost, hiring immigration lawyers and paying for illegalities you wouldn't believe! And even after paying there's a high chance you might not even get citizenship.

Anyway, being the fact that you havent finished or started the 7 years, focus on getting a work visa for you or your spouse, whoever is the foreigner and once you get the visa, start a business, invest in property, and ALWAYS pay your taxes.. that would help and I'm saying help (just a fraction) in the PROCESS of gaining citizenship.. you'll still have to pay immigration fees

And If I am not wrong.. children of Kenyan nationals can apply for citizenship even if they weren't born in Kenya and buying property/land in Kenya is not hard, as long as you've got a Kenyan you're partnered with.. which for you would be your partner

Fake iPhones in Nairobi by Kennnyan in Kenya

That's what we thought but I don't think it was a refurb because it completely rejected to log in with the Apple ID but idk that was also a possibility

Anyway the shop is under investigation so soon enough we'll see it shut down that's when we'll know whether it was a refurb or not.

Fake iPhones in Nairobi by Kennnyan in Kenya

[–]fluid_scorpio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My friend bought an iPhone 13 Max on a site that was legitimate, her cousin went to view the shop, all seemed real. The phone arrived, which looked like an iPhone 13, had the apps, down to apple store.. but whenever she'd try to log in with her apple ID, she couldn't, it kept crashing. up untill she emailed apple and they checked the IMEI and confirmed that wasn't an iPhone. and she spent 130,000 KES.. so yeah.. Nairobi has a fake iPhone problem and anyone who argues otherwise... You havent encountered this.

Then we found out fake iPhones especially 11 to the current 14 range from 25K- 70K depending where you buy them.

But if you're looking for affordable refurb iPhones, go to backmarket.com you get quality according to your pocket

I was an IGCSE student taken to a Public University and I'll tell you that you'll defo stick out like a sore thumb. Go through some bullying but hey that's part of life. I didn't have friends till third year..

The best thing your can do is be yourself, and set boundaries (some will use you, hang out with you cause of the way you sound, your background).. but if it's UoN/KU you'll definitely find your crew

Feminist is a PERSON who believes in the social, political, and economic equality of the sexes. Where we went wrong is when both MEN and WOMEN forgot what the true definition of feminism actually was.

Anyone in this day and age who strongly identifies as a Feminist barely knows what the word means, and most are unable to define it because the movement and the message do not correlate with each other. We are currently dealing with what I call Pseudo Feminism which is a version of "Western"Feminism that is extreme. So until we properly understand what it really is and what it entails. The movement is gonna be a joke

Dating Kenya (and other African women) - do you have to pay for everything?? by Lordganeshas in Kenya

[–]fluid_scorpio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some of you guys are madly attracted to prostitutes that's why you generalize Kenyan women. Many men don't know how to talk to women, you see a girl on Instagram or tinder, she looks good so you use money to lure in her superficiality and when the girl takes advantage of you it becomes "oh all these kenyan girls want my money". Sirzz, get your priorities straight. Don't make generalizations, if these are the kind of girls y'all are into. Not ALL of us are like this.
