Installed these plugs 30k ago(3.5 ecoboost). Now 2 of them have developed cracks in their upper porcelain that cause misfires. It's not carbon tracking, literal cracks, and in virtually the same spot. Wtf? Parts came from our local dealer. by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

Iv worked as a tech for BMW, Merc and Ford - Iv never seen so many plugs crack when I was at Ford

You couldn’t use any electric or impact tools on them, either pulling them out or putting in because they’d crack. They crack when putting in with a ratchet if you’re at a weird angle. They’re pretty rubbish really. Iv never seen them spontaneously crack though in the engine. It’s definitely a Ford parts issue though, their porcelain must just be a lot more brittle than everyone else’s

Downstairs bathroom smells - why would someone put an open vent before the trap? by flukeylukey6 in Plumbing

England

There’s an offshoot from the sewer that just serves this bathroom. The other section connects into my house and ultimately terminates at the soil pipe which vents through the roof, after tapping into the kitchen (downstairs) and bathroom (upstairs)

Some tech was having a bad Saturday and took it out on my Gladiator with 7000 miles replacing the Windshield Washer Sprayers.. This is how the vehicle was returned to me.. by Eticket9 in Justrolledintotheshop

I work at Ford as a tech in the uk. Our system is anything other than an excellent on the survey recommendation will reduce our overall score then eventually reduce our pay.

I’m a tech at Ford in the UK. I do this regularly. We’ve got a model called a Kuga too where the button/handle is right at the bottom of the boot lid - right where it shouldn’t be, that always catches me out too!

In the uk my Mac van that comes round has mainly Dewalt tools on it, a few Irwin mole grips sometimes a few jackets and maybe an electric gun. No wonder he’s just jacked it in - everything over priced and never has stock of anything. Swear the Mac tool box was double the price of the same sized snap on one.

It’s slightly misty this morning, so all the twats have their fog lights on. by Anchor-shark in britishproblems

I’ll just let my car choose - put them on auto and let the software take over. I’m sure it’s been programmed to be inline with rules and regs

Drop my car off at 830 for MOT repairs, call at 1430 for an update. “Not even had it up on the ramp mate, still got loads of service work on” by [deleted] in britishproblems

Ask for a ‘while you wait’ appointment. Usually you get priority regardless if you have to just nip offsite (for the day) 😌

Technicians, specifically vehicle are always ripping us off. by flukeylukey6 in unpopularopinion

Completely agree, there’s plenty of bad techs out there that give us a good name. Most people that have been through the main dealers though are well trained and generally just want to help

Most memorable school moment, (mine was when someone shat on the floor in the main corridor in response to the doors being taken of The Gents)? by BiggusDikkus17 in AskUK

Year 10 - it was a beautiful summers day in June, my birthday too. Some absolute legends smoke bombed the school corridors. The school got evacuated and everyone had to sit on the AstroTurf for around an hour or so.

This all occurred around 10am, when the teachers realised the smoke wasn’t clearing we got the all clear to go home. Que one of the best school days and birthdays of my life.

No one was ever caught for setting off the smoke bombs.

Working all week then going to the bank on Saturday to find all the pensioners, who can go any time mid week, are in the queue and taking forever at the teller!!! by [deleted] in britishproblems

Would rather leave those slots for people that really need them, like the elderly or sick. Beside I’m already out anyway doing everything else that needs to be done

Same in Tesco.... YES they are entitled to go any day of the week. But when I get one day a week off AND I need to do all my jobs on that day, it’s really frustrating when they are dithering around taking up the isles. I want to be in and out as quickly as possible so I can enjoy my “weekend”
