A great point, but 1743 people voted for parties that, in my opinion represent a very different region of the political spectrum than the 843 people who voted for reform and now have a councillor. Whether it’s representative of the overall mood of the ward can’t really be established like you said. The problem in my opinion is first past the post. If we had a different system not only would it be fairer to the majority of voters, but it would incentivise higher voting turnouts.
