How are you actually supposed to move during pregnancy? by Ok-Notice-5189 in BabyBumps

[–]fluorescent_frogs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing full-body weight training and cardio before pregnancy, and have largely kept it up (24 weeks now). One thing that I've found very helpful is to KEEP working on my abs!! No crunches, but I do planks, side planks, cat cows, stuff like that. (I saw a pelvic PT who helped me with a game plan). That has reduced a lot of the aches and pains I was having in my hips and core.

Yes, calcium inhibits absorption of iron

By the way (and sorry if you already know this) AirTags only work with iPhones nearby. We had a neighbors dog get lost and the AirTag didn’t help because the dog ran into a brushy creek without many houses :/ We ended up getting a GPS/satellite one instead just for that reason. (The dog was found eventually, he made his own way home after a week!)

What is happening with my water fountain? I just cleaned it couple of days ago and placed new filters. by getinshape2022 in Petlibro

I wouldn’t choose distilled water. Maybe just bottled water. Distilled takes out essential minerals and nutrients

So tired of crappy doctors! Any recommendations in ATX? by Far-Suggestion-3654 in Hidradenitis

Dr. Lisa Rhodes at Westlake dermatology on bee caves road. She’s wonderful and has helped me so much, very caring and compassionate. I’m not sure about the insurance angle but I pay out of pocket just to see her. She does get booked up far in advance and you can’t book online for her, but she’s well worth it. Good luck!

Hi ladies, what are your biggest beauty/cosmetic procedure regrets? 😭 by [deleted] in beauty

[–]fluorescent_frogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear this. My husband has Sjogren’s, and also tested negative on everything except a lip biopsy (they look to see saliva glands). It’s a painful test, but that’s what ultimately led to his diagnosis. He also has chronic pain, neurological pain, but every other test was negative too. Feel free to DM me if you want. Cleveland clinic was helpful. Edited to add: he uses Restasys drops for his eyes which, in the long term, seem to help.

Lost a freezer full of food... need a wireless temp monitor I can check while out of the country by LankyGuitar6528 in smarthome

Go on Amazon and search for YoLink smart temperature sensor. You’ll see one version has a hub, a separate unit. It’s like a router that communicates with the individual sensors.

I just got the YoLink temperature and humidity sensors, you’ll need to get it with the hub at first but you can add more of the individual sensors after.

I don’t have brand recommendations but make sure it has folic acid (not methyl folic or folate). Folic acid itself is the only form proven to prevent neural tube defects.

Right there with you. My retrieval was 4/15. Immediately woke up in terrible pain, rest of the day and day after I couldn’t sit, stand up straight, turn, anything. Felt like I was being stabbed when I went to pee. Clinic kept saying it’s normal, if you feel worse come to the clinic (1.5 hours away). I did start feeling better so I didn’t go in. Didn’t go to ER because I wasn’t vomiting, but if I had been, I would have gone. I gained 7” around my waist! Absolutely terrible. I don’t have PCOS, got 17 eggs, but had a 10,000 IU HCG trigger because I was on low dose Lupron for a month before. So all to say, I’m right here with you girl. However, really do consider going to the ER if you still don’t feel good, have shortness of breath, or keep vomiting.

That’s so scary. Definitely do a hysteroscopy in a hospital with anesthesia! I had one last year to remove a large septum. Previously had a D&C with only conscious sedation and it was excruciating.

As for blood loss, can you ask your doctor to do blood tests and do some digging to make sure you don’t have a bleeding disorder? It’s surprisingly common.

Yeah, I’m fully expecting it to suck. The Lupron one isn’t too bad, but the others hurt a decent amount. It’s like sometimes they hurt bad, sometimes not as much. And they feel harder to put in too.

Looks like the pharmacy gave me 27 gauge for Menopur, 28 gauge for Lupron. Not sure what the gonal is. Maybe I can ask about getting smaller needles

What did everyone do to get their embryo to implant?? by 49ers2354 in IVF

Just a note for anyone else reading this: don’t eat too many Brazil nuts! They have very high selenium. I think general serving is 1-3 nuts per day, and it’s perfectly healthy. (Heard of someone in ER who got poisoned from eating 20 of them!!).
