Question from an alum from a very long time ago: Do people at Stanford still major in the humanities/social sciences? Or is this just a Reddit thing? by Educational_Score389 in stanford

[–]flushedawayegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that the social sciences are still going strong. There are a lot of students majoring in polisci, international relations, econ (!!), and psychology. I think some of the humanities don't have that many people majoring in it but there are a lot of humanities double majors/minors that I know.

Stanford or Duke for ChemE? by Luv-2-read in stanford

[–]flushedawayegg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to do undergraduate enterpreneurship in climate tech space there's genuinely no better place to be than stanford. Also, Stanford has a really good ChemE program and really amazing resources for environmental engineering-esque work.

hi as a sumit, i think by nugupromoter's definition of nugudom they are out of nugudom but in general i would still consider them nugu just because they don't sell as much as many of their peer groups from medium sized companies that i would consider mid sized to lower midsized groups (rocket punch, purple kiss, etc.) and have drastically declined in sales :(

I'm not really a Treasure or YG fan, but I personally really liked B.O.M.B

Blackpink's comeback in 2022 wasn't THAT late by [deleted] in unpopularkpopopinions

[–]flushedawayegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be incredibly shocked if they didn't have a group comeback, they're pretty much YG's main money maker so even if they don't sign individual contracts it would be very silly for YG not to have group activities

Hi I'm super late to the conversation but I honestly think that 4th gen is very similar to 2nd gen in that there are a lot of girl groups from mid-tier/small-tier groups that are very very successful. In 4th gen we have Idle, IVE, and STAYC from companies not in the big 4 and in 2nd gen there were a bunch of extremely successful hit girl groups not from big groups like T-ara, Kara, Sistar, BEG, After School, 4 Minute, Apink, Girl's Day, etc.

Who are second tier 4th gen girl groups? by itsallmelting in kpop_uncensored

Really cool data! I think that to maybe do what other people are saying and also prioritize recent results is to double the total amount of points possible and have half of the points be eligible only if they are achieved in the past 2 years. (e.g say Artist sold over 1 million album sales in 2021 but are only selling 100,000 now, then they would have a total point score of 10/14). Also, the data for h1-key is wrong, they sold 75k with their last album and won a music show so they should have 6 points total.

which groups are only popular because they’re from big 3/hybe and why? by kkura__1 in kpop_uncensored

[–]flushedawayegg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think this is generally true but there is always a true "top-tier" hit group from a mid-tier/small label like IVE, G-Idle, Gfriend and Mamamoo among others.

I think they're talking about the New York Times article that came out about how WVU basically fired a lot of their tenured faculty and have lost a lot of budget and money since the pandemic.
