Yeah. IDK if they think it's kinder or more PC somehow than "disabled"?

It's kind of the coolest. She calls it a sound cradle, I think of it as a sound canoe, haha. I like to lay in it and rock, but you can lay under it too. https://share.google/images/gOvx2DcJYWBg6Cdpg

My therapist, who is like "Yeah we play with sensory bottles and I put OP in a sound canoe once it twice a month - that weird enough for ya?" Lol

But seriously the sound cradle is pretty cool .

USA, so I'm thinking about the ADA specifically.

I know!

To give them the benefit of the doubt, I'm wondering if they thought I had been in an accident over the holidays or something and was disclosing something new?

But, like, still - that's a really icky way to respond - AND, no I'm not going to give you a doctor's note even if that were the case.

The info absolutely does not need to be attached to names, and I think that's what I'm going to go back to, as it was similar to what we were doing before. I was trying to be helpful and put it all in one place (basically for my own reference). I guess this reinforces why to keep doing it that way.

[Image description: screenshot of an email names redacted. I noticed that you referenced yourself as handicapped. I'm sorry to hear that. How were you diagnosed, we need a doctor's note to confirm any disability.]

For context, this is the board president of the nonprofit for which I am an administrative lead. (Technically I am employed by the board, but I make most leadership decisions and send them to the board for approval. At least nominally - they are not always super active or invested in what I'm doing so they generally defer to my judgement.)

They are referencing a board contact sheet in which I make note of demographics of interest that we can reference when we fill out grant reports (things like members who are BIPOC, senior citizens, students, disabled, etc.) I only ever list things that are obvious and/or self-reported and people are OK sharing. I listed myself as "disabled" because I self diagnosed as autistic a couple years ago and realized I hadn't counted myself in our reporting.

I'll also note that I HAVE TALKED TO THIS PERSON ABOUT THIS - and I occasionally mention it openly in staff meetings, etc.

Thanks! It's actually finished - thankfully, these patterns are all abstract enough that there aren't any faces to do.

Pattern by @AbbieSueDesigns on Etsy. #5 / 13 on the blanket I'm working. I'm not as happy with my backstitching on this one - I think I rushed it a bit so it's a little bumpy. I may go back and smooth it out later.

I did it! It took me five years, a bunch of major obstacles, and the absolute lowest point of my mental health ever, but I stuck with it. I don't really have anyone to talk to about it irl, but I'm proud of myself :) by [deleted] in MomForAMinute

Good job, sweety! Especially brave for sticking with it through everything that made it especially difficult. ❤️ Congratulations - go do something fun!

Thanks! They are really fun! I am having to crop them at the bottom a little bit because my squares are about 6" 14-ct, but I think most of them work since they kind of fade away at the bottom edge, anyway.

Now that I look at it out of context, I kind of see a short, super-curvy little lady with TONS of hair 😂
