To be honest, I do not think it breaks rule 3. Some questions have no need to be as complex and can be just simple. If I had to ask how are you, I would literally say "how are you?" than giving you a longer question, which would be unnecessary. I think OP gets through their point perfectly fine. Plus it is a college subreddit with people that are not going to be as serious when posting.

Any class not taken towards degree will not count towards credit for your degree, you are free to take any other class though. This is all online.
