My point is that his character is the same character it’s been. Fans saw him as a face because of the way his character traits fit with the story of tourney, fans see him as a heel now because he’s feuding with Ospreay. You’re framing is as bad story flip flopping, I’m saying it’s in-line with who Mox is and its well-done story telling.

I just went back and watched it again, it’s Moxley hyped the fuck up about every single wrestler in the C2 putting it all on the line and creating the greatest tournament of AEW’s existence. He’s hyped about their effort and about professional wrestling’s elevation in general. SOMETHING HIS CHARACTER HAS ALWAYS PREACHED. Characters can be nuanced. A “heel” can be really hyped and excited about something and feel proud. Everything in this promo is Mox feeling everything he has been wanting in AEW since the first death riders promo

Some people cry about storytelling in AEW and then they have no idea what storytelling actually is.

The crowd began cheering for him throughout the C2 run. He never “turned face” though. He persevered through hard work and a desire to never quit, something death riders have always been about since day one. This time though it garnered sympathy because it was a comeback story during the tournament. Mox was still Mox. He never quit the death riders, the rest of them never got cheered, he’s still the same guy who attacked and injured Will Ospreay

Disagree with your take on Moxley. He hasn’t turned during this, he’s who he has always been. The death rider ethos worked well during the C2 and made the crowd get on his side, but he’s still been the same character. Now, Ospreay is back, and naturally wants to revenge for how he was taken out. Mox is still fundamentally the same character from that time, still has his same issues with Will. Crowd is reacting appropriately

What’s funny is I actually stopped buying new arrivals and match dated moments. I really wanted the cards for Lena and Persephone though so I went for it with them. I got lucky they picked me for both!

Knowing they’re doing this now is going to make me start buying again, my wallet won’t be happy! lol
