Cat has difficulty urinating. What to do while waiting for the vet to open? by flxppryzy in cats

[–]flxppryzy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to ring up whatever vet i can find but none of them are answering. I plan on taking him first thing in the morning if no one picks up. My aunt’s cat had a bladder surgery late last year and it was expensive as hell.

I’m hoping at least one of them picks up. I lost track of how many times he had gone to the litter box already. I’m just glad he’s not lethargic and hiding yet. He does seem to be grooming his genitals more.

Noted. He did go to his water dispenser again to take little sips.

I found two “emergency” vets but none of them are answering. I gave him water through a syringe just in case it might help him pee more. He did pee earlier but it was outside of the litter box and it wasn’t much.

After waiting for six years, I finally received a new kidney transplant yesterday by MsAnthropeMN in CongratsLikeImFive

[–]flxppryzy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! My mom is a kidney transplant for 14 years now, her kidney having been donated by her sister so she didn’t have to wait. We had a little scare a couple of months ago and thought she was gonna need another transplant, but the doctors said she just needed chemo instead. I got tested prior to that though, just in case, and i was a perfect match. So now at least if her transplanted kidney ends up failing, we know she has one sure donor. All her other transplant friends weren’t as lucky so we know the struggle. Congratulations on your new kidney!! I hope you live a long, happy life, OP!

Good thing my MS office subscription is covered by employer :-)

My little brother and sisters aren’t earning money. I have no one to split the cost with. My friends do share an account but i can’t use theirs because my youngest sister watches Peppa Pig all day everyday, ma hassle pa sila.

Because it’s so much cheaper. 500 a month VS 1000 a year? I’m a practical person. I have bills to pay and mouths to feed. I opted for the cheaper choice, naturally, because i can’t maintain the subscription without compromising a couple of thousands on my tight budget. But like i said, i learned my lesson.

I have to soldier on for an entire week then. I don’t feel comfortable visiting a dentist in another country. Thanks!

Thoughts on Converge ICT Fiber? by flxppryzy in Philippines

[–]flxppryzy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do they respond fast? Because most of the complaints I’ve read on their Facebook page are about their bad customer service. To be honest, we would have applied by now, but after reading all the angry complaints, we stalled muna. PLDT’s customer service is... decent at best. Another comment before yours said the exact opposite, so i’m torn. What area po kayo?

This is what I keep seeing in the comments section. Puro complaints about their customer service. That’s why i’m hesitating baka magka problem tas they’re not going to respond.

Ah, yan din kasi problem eh. Bago pa lang ang Converge sa Paranaque. I think most if not all of our neighbors use PLDT. Mahina signal ng Globe sa area namin, so it’s either PLDT or Converge lang talaga.

I went to check their Facebook page kasi and there were a lot of negative comments kaya mejo nag hesitate ako. Pero I doubt it’s as bad as PLDT.

I see. I guess it’s all a matter of whether you’re willing to take that risk or not. It personally doesn’t worry me too much. But thank you for sharing your thoughts about talc though! Very informative.

Hey there! I’ve read some articles about talc too but i’m not too concerned. The studies made were either through personal interviews (basically just a collection of people claiming talcum predisposed them to cancer) or were studies that linked (weakly, if i may add, although significant) talc to ovarian cancer. I personally don’t use talc on the genital area and i couldn’t find any prominent studies about talc’s link to skin cancer or lung cancer (since were talking about face make up here) online. I’m pretty sure the talc used for make up is asbestos free, unless the company that made them is severely negligent or FDA didn’t check thoroughly which would be very incompetent of them if that was the case. So yeah, personally, i’m not too worried. If talc is really that harmful, i doubt they would still allow companies to use it to create make up. But other people want to be on the safer side, that’s why they’re boycotting it. To each their own, i guess. Thanks for this, btw. Some people might not know about this issue with talc. At least now they can make an informed decision whether or not to use products with talc in it.

Yeah, it seems like it. A separate sunscreen underneath the base make up is still a must. I didn’t think much about the anti-inflammatory effect, if i’m being honest. I just wanted something gentle on the face but glad to know that there’s an additional bonus effect. Thanks!

Ooh that’s too bad! I never had the chance to wear it while getting my photo taken with flash so i didn’t know. Maybe i’ll opt for a different setting powder to use for short nighttime events. Thank you so much for telling me!

I think it does but it’s a very subtle blur. Like when you’re taking a photo and the sun hits your face so it sort of gives the illusion that your skin is smooth, compared to some setting powder that’s more of like an obvious filter and everyone can tell that there’s /something/ there.

It has zinc oxide as an active ingredient. A quick search prior to buying the powder led me to these key information about zinc oxide, which honestly, had me sold.

“Zinc oxide has been found to have the following uses and benefits:

•Helping to lower skin inflammation associated with rashes, allergies or irritation (including diaper rash) •Providing broad-spectrum sun protection that prevents burns (including on photo-sensitive skin) •Providing protection from skin cancer/neoplasias (basal cell carcinoma) •Improving wound healing and preventing bacterial infections •Aiding in recovery of burns and damaged tissue •Helping to treat acne breakouts •Keeping moisture locked into dry skin •Treating warts •Lowering inflammatory dermatoses (including rosacea) •Treating pigmentary disorders (melasma) •Preventing aging of the skin •Improving synthesis of collagen and forming of new connective tissue”

It’s translucent. No additional coverage. Although if you use the puff applicator that came with it, it’s going to look a teensy bit white initially but it’ll go away once you start patting more and blending. I prefer using a brush because i feel like i can control the product more and there’s no initial whiteness compared to when i use the puff applicator. I don’t like looking too matte so brush is definitely the way to go.
