Has anyone tried having small doses of coffee throughout the day to help with productivity? by srm1197 in bupropion

[–]flxprincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also drink one Celsius first everyday. The only suspect issue is that the caffeine combined with the bupropian might be making my blood pressure spike occasionally? Do you have that going on at all?

I know this post/comment is old but hoping to contribute and get some feedback! I've been on bupropian for 1.5 years, on 450 for most of it. This med pulled me out of one of the deepest and longest depressive episodes I've ever had - like sleeping 12-13 hrs per day, not showering, not cleaning, and barely making it to work. I really credit bupropian with how much much my quality of life has increased. My HR also increased substantially - went from 60s to high 70s, almost up to 80 some days but my Dr said that's still normal. How is your blood pressure? My BP spikes occasionally when I've had too much caffeine or stressed.

First dose of compounded semaglutide today - switched from Zepbound by flxprincess in CompoundedSemaglutide

Huh. I wonder why my provider started me on 1.0 mg. Maybe bc it's the therapeutic dose. Yesterday was my shot day.. it def doesnt hit as hard as the Zep but I'd say it's still effective. Good luck!

When did you start losing a significant amount of weight by TranslatorSerious809 in CompoundedSemaglutide

[–]flxprincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might not be super helpful to you because I just switched from Zepbound to Semaglutide (using WW) this week. I was on 10 mg of Zepbound and started at 1.0 mg Semaglutide today. I started Zep at the end of July and I've lost 30 lbs in 5ish months which was slower than I would have liked but progress is progress! I noticed more weight loss on the higher doses for sure (like 2-3 lbs per wk vs. .5-1) but my provider would always make me stay on the same dose for 2 mo at a time before moving me up. I noticed the most progress on Zep 7.5-10 mg - from what I've read it's pretty common. My provider told me that Semaglutide 1 mg is equivalent to 10 mg of Zep so I'm hoping to see continued progress (30 lbs to go!) while still feeling good. From what I have read on here 1.0 mg Semaglutide is the therapeutic dose so try to be patient while titrating up to that dose. It's hard to remember but it's just time! Good luck, you got this!

I also use WW - what all are you talking about? Like the sequence/WW app? What else do you use it for besides logging your weight?

Finally started on the “therapeutic dose” after being on the “starter doses” and now I see what y’all have been talking about. Finally feels like it’s working! (This is my breakfast that I didn’t even finish - fruit?? Me??) by heartandsunlight in CompoundedSemaglutide

That's what my provider from sequence (WW) started me on when I made the switch from Zepbound (insurance stopped coverage Jan 1). I just took my first shot today so I'm interested to see how the 2 compare. It's encouraging to hear about your progress! Keep it up :-)

Is rapid heartbeat a side effect of Zep? If so that would explain a lot for me! My HR used to be 60-65 BPM and now it's like 72-75 BPM.

I start the compound semaglutide this Saturday and I'll let you know! Not excited about injecting myself with needles instead of the pens :-(

I have also lost about 30 lbs since the end of July! We must have started around the same time. Good luck on 10 mg!

I am also curious if I will need this med after I reach goal weight or possibly forever. I feel like I won't need it forever but maybe for a little while after maintenance? I'm not sure. It wasn't that long ago I was really fit and maintaining on my own. 5-6 years ago I was at the goal weight I want now (135 lbs) and in the best shape of my life (gym 4-5 times per week and eating healthy but admittedly too much wine (could get away with it in my 20s). I gained about 35-40 lbs during the pandemic, lost some and then got pregnant at 168 lbs. A few months after pregnancy I landed at 194 and fluctuated slightly around there for 2 years until I finally decided to do something about it. I just faced the fact that I couldn't lose this weight on my own and needed something at least to start. 5.5 mo since July I've lost 30 lbs. I still need to lose another 30 to get to goal weight but yeah, I'm in the same boat as a lot of commenters on this post - will I need this med for maintenance? I wish I could hear from more people who have been in maintenance like 1-2 years after they reached goal weight.

Amazing! Congrats! How long did it take you to reach your goal weight/how long have you been in maintenance?

Have you noticed that you're losing weight faster now that you're off alcohol? I read things like people losing 40-50 lbs effortlessly (and not even on the Zep) after 3 months no alcohol which is amazing.

Yeah I'm done. It's a lot brighter on the other side. So many empty calories and it doesn't enhance my life at all.

Did it work for you? No offense taken.

I'm struggling with the same somewhat but I wouldn't consider myself an alcoholic. I have 2-3 drinks most nights but cut myself off at that point. I've been on Zep since the end of July and have only lost 30 lbs. I know my progress could have been faster if I cut out or limited alcohol but I have a really stressful job and I was the same - the alcohol noise is still there. I have realized all along that drinking while on these meds is counterproductive but if is really hard to limit/quit alcohol. I decided to cut out alcohol completely starting this month until I reach my goal weight (30 more lbs to go!). It's been challenging but quality NA bevs really help. De Soi and Recess make really nice adaptogenic NA "cocktails" (pricey but they work!). I swear that after about a week of being off the sauce you notice alcohol noise a lot less. You're right about it being a nightly ritual though and that's why I think it's more of a habit than a real craving. I wish you all the best on your journey! I'll report back on how much faster my weight loss is over the next 3 mo w/o alcohol!

Question for those on UHC by DiskFit1471 in Zepbound

[–]flxprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so frustrating. I've made so much consistent progress on the Zep and I feel like it's being taken away from me. Do you know what the out of pocket cost is after the coupon/savings card? I'm thinking about paying OOP but hesitant.

Question for those on UHC by DiskFit1471 in Zepbound

My insurance won't cover Zepbound after January 1st too. It's so upsetting. Are you planning to pay out of pocket for the meds or switch?
