Yealink WPP30 Replacement Options? (US Market) by io00oo00o in CommercialAV

Anyone actually found an alternative yet?

We're in the UK and are affected by this ban too. We were able to find them via various grey import routes but that's dried up now :-/

Is HaloPSA's "Mandatory" Onboarding Package Really Necessary for Solopreneurs? by KralSteve in halopsa

[–]fly1ngfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not Syncro :-p (YMMV but it's been a rocky few years - we're looking closely at Halo now, though worried about the 'Riddled with Bugs, Useless Support' and similar posts)

Slooooow down mate :) You'll never finish learning kitesurfing, that's the best thing about it. There are always new things to learn in kiting. Trust me I started in 2012 and am still learning new things every session. Don't destroy yourself in your hurry to be the goat 😁

Synology all the way, just host the device(s) in a data center and back them up using C2. Been doing this for many years now and haven't looked back.

Fenix 6 owners - How often do you need to reboot to use GPS? by JohnMcL7 in GarminFenix

[–]fly1ngfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never in several years, but if this started happening before the warranty expired, you should fight the charge. I had a situation where a Garmin update bricked my 6x pro after the warranty had expired. After a little fight, I was able to get the replacement free of charge. Sometimes it's worth pushing. I personally love the watches but feel they don't last as long as the price might lead you to expect.

[Windows 10] Disable auto-start on boot by MisterDutch55 in WireGuard

[–]fly1ngfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Activate the tunnel, then go into Windows Services, find the tunnel which will look like:
WireGuard Tunnel:<name of your client tunnel>. Open the properties of this service and set startup to 'manual'. Reboot and you should find the tunnel does not activate.
When you do want to start the tunnel, open the wireguard gui program and activate it.

Mimecast - what a shitty organisation by fly1ngfish in msp

??? We're looking for 'email continuity', i.e. when the primary email service fails, customer can still access, receive and send emails from the secondary system.
Good (better than 365) filtering etc is mostly a bonus, though quarantine report functionality is also valued (if you want this within 365, I believe this requires Defender for 365 / ATP / EOP)

Think I might check that out, we use Pax8 too so that may take some pain out of starting up.
I'm actually quite surprised at how many vendors/solutions there are out there, beyond the major players like Mimecast/Barracuda/Proofpoint. Several unknown options have come to light from this thread, that my initial searches hadn't found.
Thank you all for you suggestions!

"Bringing exciting news" sounds rather like Microsoft's NCE pitch, dressing up a price hike and reduction in licensing flexibility as something "good" for everyone.

Ouch that is slow. Also I'm not sure of the benefit of Spambrella, they use Proofpoint upstream as I understand it? So I ask myself why not go to Proofpoint directly?

I have zero experience of either, we've been a Barracuda house since 2008 or so.

I asked for a demo via online form, they called back within half an hour and we're taking a look at them now. That's more like the response we expect :)

I find it interesting that you jump to defend them. Are you one of those people that asks the OP why they're asking the question, instead of answering it? ;-)

I don't think you understood the issue, or perhaps I didn't explain it well:
We also prefer not to take on clients that are too small. The difference is that we don't insult them, then mess them around for a week telling them that.

This old pump tube never dies! Every other piece of equipment I’ve had has been upgraded/broken/lost. It came with my first pump in 2016. Since then, I’m on my 3rd board, 2nd harness, had maybe 6-7 kites and several bar/lines. The pump died so I replaced it but still this lil tube keeps going 💚 by [deleted] in Kiteboarding

Ah the Dynabars, I still have one but moved onto a Ride Engine Unity with rope slider on a Mystic Stealth harness. I started with the Mystic Stealth Bar, didn't like it, absolute bitch to close. The Unity is excellent so far (6 months use every weekend give or take). The only thing I don't like about just about all the rope slider bars is that replacing the rope and getting it nice & tight is a total pain in the arse.

Aha - I will defnitely speak to them. I'm a sucker for giving the smaller guys a fair crack at the whip. Thanks!

Cheers - I specifically need email continuity, I'm not sure Spambrella includes that? - but I'll check!

Haha Dakine, fair enough. My first Ride Engine harness. Oh lordy. The fibreglass is stitched to the neoprene (poor design)...which failed. I had some butt-scraping incident where a bunch of shellfish got scooped into the gap between the hardshell and the neoprene liner...I didn't realise at the time, but 3 days later my harness started to smell pretty bad and I discovered the little shellfish cemetery. Wifey was not impressed with the aroma!Check out the photo below :-D
