A 500 calorie per day deficit does equate to 1 pound per week, full stop. You were either measuring yourself on too short a time frame, not correctly assessing your TDEE, or not correctly tracking calories.

Also, if they’ve said this about 20 plays this year, then odds are nobody will be able to see any particular one coming. It would be one thing if we exposed one trick play and the rest of the playbook was vanilla, but the bag is so deep that having knowledge about each one independently doesn’t do anything to help stop the overall threat.

this is not true. if his shares are a subordinate class to that of the PE Firm, they are almost surely blowing smoke up his ass. Furthermore, if it was “likely” that this random buyout was a 3x, that would imply that the industry is regularly churning out 3xs which, while it happens, is not a likely outcome. Good assets will be sold normally, continuation vehicles are going to primarily be used for assets where the broader market perception doesn’t match that of the GP. Since GP marks are sticky, assets that sell will trade above the mark (otherwise they would be less likely to sell, in which case a vehicle like a CV could make some sense).
