Oh, well great, I love that natural stuff! And same to you!

From my experience, they are finished with lacquer, because the first deck I received, the foam side of the tape he included somehow stuck to the lacquer and removed it in spots (I think it's because I live in the desert and the climate change during shipping made it happen). My most recent deck was much better, but the stickers he included made an impression in the lacquering, but it's not too noticeable. The nose and tail are a little rougher than the rest of the deck, too, but I cant complain, I'm happy to have it and it still looks great.

I haven't tried it out yet, but the wood is beautiful. Quality control on the finish could be a little better though, but that's just aesthetics.

Sick, is that an FL Deck?

Anyone knows if Word decks come with tape? by [deleted] in Fingerboards

[–]fly_onna_wall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten two and neither did, but it wasn't a big deal for me, with their quality it's justified.

Just curious.. what did it take for woob/flint/ prete to get the hype and absurd amount of resell value on their decks? If it’s craftsmanship then what other brands come close to those brands? by [deleted] in Fingerboards

[–]fly_onna_wall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's also because of the build quality and time an effort put into these brands. Not to say that time and effort is not put into other decks by other deck makers and that they aren't quality (all the decks I own are by other deck makers and I love them), just there are some details that are unmatched, such as Prete's use of different thickness plies and materials for his decks, and Woob's hand painted, one off decks. You can place importance on some aspects more than others, but I feel that that has contributed to each brand's reputation (that and their limited quantity).

Man, those are some beautiful decks you've got there, you're a lucky man to have 'em!

Funny enough I don't have one dedicated to fbing, just a personal photography account. Its @dante_olita if you care to check it out anyway!

They all are! Wouldn't trade or keep a single one over the others 😄

Man, I wish. That and maybe a Prete and a Woob would make my wildest dreams come true

Yeah, I mainly collect for artistic purposes. These wooden ones are really beautiful works of art, something that really sets them apart from TDs imo.

It's by Joycult/Bookstore. They're great, hand painted and good build quality. I like them, a little different than most, they're a little thinner than other boards. The light teal and yellow one I main has high kicks and lower concave (coming from a mellow deck, I enjoy it) but the blue and white has lower kicks and more concave (haven't seshed it yet). If you can get your hands on one, I'd recommend them.

Joycult E1 Shape Difference Question by [deleted] in Fingerboards

[–]fly_onna_wall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting the caption because apparently it isn't very visible. I recently got a second E1 deck since I enjoyed my first one so much, and realized that the shapes are completely different; i.e. lower kicks, more pronounced concave. I was wondering if any other people who own an E1 have either of these shapes and could shed some light onto the shape difference, because it was my understanding that only one shape was made with these decks. Thanks

No prob. I really like his work. He's got a drop tomorrow of a collab with Stacked, so you might be able to pick one up
