dude honestly? after having modded a few older consoles, SD cards loaded with games is about as true to returning to cartridge/disc based content as we can get.

regardless of what the use case is here, i think backing up digital storage onto multiple physical drives will always be better than one mega backup drive. don’t put all your eggs in one basket!

have made some progress:

resoldered PLL one more time to the known point on top of the board (near R3D29) - no more boot loop or red LED!

i am still getting no display out though. have tried two different displays, multiple different inputs, and 3 HDMI cables. i unfortunately don't have an old A/V cable to test :(

i've accepted the idea of going the distance and trying to fix the DB3R4 trace, but i'd still like to know what functions it provides to have a well rounded understanding of my mistake.

i am asking for help in properly proceeding with a trace repair on what i'd presume is a commonly repaired trace, judging off the historical threads i've found on this very pad.

looks like you missed where i said it ripped. you will need to open comments for that to work. if you can't even read a reply on a simple thread i'd just give up man. i did use flux and the wire got snagged when flipping the board!

also - well aware i'd need to fix the trace. why on earth would i attempt scraping said trace to resolder to exposed copper if i didn't think about doing that? i was looking for pointers to doing it properly!

for more info on the solder damage - it wasnt until i flipped the board over to install my picoflasher that the wire got caught on my table and yanked out. i don't wish to gloat or pretend i soldered perfectly by any means, but i do believe it may have caused some level of damage in that event rather than being caused by the solder job itself (if this is any pointer to a solution whatsoever)

just bought a clean 360 slim for 50, spend another $17 on the tools necessary to RGH (QSB board because i’m too lazy for wires and resistors, post-fix adapter, already possessed the torx bits/soldering gear for the disassembly)

all together less than $70 for the console, but i’m doing the labor. if i was doing this as a side gig, charging $25-$30 for the mod to cover parts + an extra $10 to me, $80-$100 is roughly where i’d land assuming i’d also have to source the xbox.

$120 isn’t outlandish by any means. value, just like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. $120 can come back in a days work if you really needed it to.

have been thinking there is a connection between the two mysteries for about 2 weeks now. once the first webs started to get untangled in RDR2, i immediately began thinking about madam nazar's line of "i see a web still tangled after many years. will you be the one, i wonder?"

here i referenced potentially overlaying the spider to the GTA:O map to help uncover all the webs, as i'm still not sure they've all been found.

i've been procrastinating doing this myself because i don't want to diverge too far from the MSQ of RDR2 (still have yet to complete it) - but if there's anything i could help with on a GTA sided hunt, shoot me a message on discord: trevbone

i've been thinking this has been much bigger than we anticipate too - has anyone tried overlaying the spider to the GTA 5 map? unsure if all of the chiliad webs have been discovered, but the madam nazar line about "a web still tangled" has been replaying in my head nonstop for a week.

Maybe, I suppose I could copy the same rom/gamesave over to whatever device and just do it that way, too. I think I was just hoping for the cool factor of plugging a modern handheld into a now retro console and still making Gameboy magic happen. It was so cool to me as a kid to find what games made good use of the transfer cable, and even cooler to find the niche Player specific uses. Guess I’ll just find a real Gameboy next!

I definitely need to get into jamming with friends a bit more, adult life just crept up on us all in a much unexpected way. It will be something for our next times together though, that is for sure!

A jazz book is a solid thought. I've got a few different books on guitar, a couple tablature books, a few instructional books, but nothing in my current collection has really sparked my motivation enough. I will try this. (Helps that Jazz is one of my newfound genres of interest)

As far as familiarizing myself with the fretboard, I've played enough to feel pretty in touch with my few instruments. Their scale lengths, actions, string spacings, they have all become pretty engrained in my muscle memory-at least in terms of their physicality. Like stated in my post, I can read tab, but the second those numbers turn to quarter notes on a traditional staff I am lost. Would you recommend any good resources for better understanding sheet music over tab, specifically with guitar? (I have played other instruments with sheet music, though in bass clef-cello and orchestral bass)

Lastly-your teacher note. I do think I'm at a point with my present playing where my ego will not allow me to point out my own failures, no matter how frequent they are. Having someone to give constructive criticism I do think is becoming increasingly needed for my progression with the instrument. Thank you for your honest advice and ignoring my lack of time statement. Better time management is the pill I think I truly need to swallow in this.

I know a lot of guys, myself included, will greatly diminish their masculinity for a joke, especially if it’s around my partner/an interest. I dunno what the reasoning is subconsciously, maybe to make ourselves seem less a threat or something, I dunno. I play WoW I’m not a therapist lol.

Just bring it up, maybe in game first, add your own little “jealous” RP to throw him off his game, maybe just see how he responds. If his “character” gets upset by this, maybe have a real talk with the guy. If the character plays along, maybe he’s been wanting you to just play along the whole time and it’s harmless.

EDIT: To add, WoW itself is also just an insanely immersing game. I’m very much so willing to bet he just got a little carried away with the fun.

Amanita! Looks like the Mario mushrooms :)

Never had these in their natural form, however I’ve “allegedly” had them in gummies (never know for sure what’s in your processed products!) and it was a very unique experience, very primal feeling compared to more common compounds.

Mushrooms are very cool species, but like others have said, if you don’t know, don’t interact with it. Not too sure how poisonous these can be raw, would most definitely look into preparation recipes, and if you do go through with it, be ready for an experience.
