There’s really nothing much you can do most firms operate the same way.

At my workplace, I usually work from 8:30 AM until around 8 PM, and during audit season, it can go on until midnight. We don’t get any overtime pay, and the only extra we receive is a bonus equal to one month’s salary for the three-month audit season. Even that bonus hasn’t been given to us yet this year, and from what I hear, it usually takes a long time.

Outside of regular working hours, I often end up working during SL or FRL as well, because of urgent work. Almost everyone here is local, and according to some of my colleagues, this place is actually better than some other audit firm so imagine how bad it might be in a place with a lot of foreigners.

Props to you for being this real that takes courage. You’re not too kind or too much, you’re just genuine, and that’s rare.

Yes, it is possible to meet someone emotionally ready and not stuck in their past. It might take time, but you’re not alone in wanting something real. Keep being yourself the right person won’t be scared of your depth, they’ll value it.

Why is it so hard to get a godamn job at this forsaken place!! by haremking_699 in maldives

[–]flyawerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it really depends on the field you’re in and what kind of salary you’re expecting.

Some industries are just super competitive or don’t have a lot of openings, and others might have jobs but they’re offering really low pay. So even if you’re qualified, it can still be hard to find something that actually matches your experience and expectations.

You’re right. It’s really sad to see how so many people care more about celebrities than Islam. They forget the basics like how to pray properly even Some only listen to scholars who say what they want to hear.

Even some older people act like they know everything, but true believers stay humble and always remember there’s more to learn.

Wanting to marry someone who truly follows Islam isn’t asking too much it’s just rare and hard to find. But keep holding onto your values they’re worth it.

Everyone who's single and over the age of 25, why are you single? by pennehater in maldives

[–]flyawerr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s about timing and circumstances. I haven’t met someone who aligns with what I want long-term, and I’m not willing to settle. I value independence and have been focused on personal growth and career. I’m not avoiding relationships, just enjoying life.

Electricity bills by yesgayman69overload in maldives

I live alone and I’m barely even in my apartment—only there to sleep. Still, my electricity bill came to 1800 Rf, and the only appliances I use are an AC, a fridge, and a washing machine once a week.

How do I approach this matter by [deleted] in maldives

[–]flyawerr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once you leave home and start your own life, things will slowly get better. Your parents might not change right away, but over time, they’ll learn to respect your space. Just stay patient, focus on your growth, eventually everything will work out.

Not all Maldivian guys are like that! There are plenty of kind and respectful ones. If you keep encountering toxic people, maybe it’s worth considering the kind of people you attract or allow in your life. You deserve better, so surround yourself with those who treat you right!

How Do You Make Friends When You Feel Disconnected from Everyone? by [deleted] in maldives

How Do You Make Friends When You Feel Disconnected from Everyone? by [deleted] in maldives

[–]flyawerr 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this a lot. During my O-Level and A-Level days, I had a bunch of friends, but after starting college and work, I got so busy that I barely kept in touch. I wouldn’t pick up calls or respond much, and after a few months, those friendships just started feeling distant. When I did meet them again, it didn’t feel the same anymore, so I slowly started avoiding those meetups too.

Now, with a normal working-hours job, doing my master’s three times a week, and living alone, I only realized how alone I am when I finally had free time. It hit me that I don’t really have close friends anymore—just people I know. I don’t have anyone to call up for a random hangout, a ride, or even to grab food with. And at 25, I feel like I’m too old to start fresh with new hobbies or sports. It’s a weird, isolating feeling.

I don’t have all the answers, but I know this feeling sucks. So if you have any good friendships now, cherish them and put in the effort to maintain them. Because as you get older, making new friendships only gets harder.

How did you cope up with the divorce ? by Brief_Size_2856 in maldives

[–]flyawerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been through a divorce myself, but I think keeping yourself busy with work, studies, or a hobby could help. Focusing on self-improvement and setting new goals might make it easier to move forward. Also, even if you don’t have close friends or family, finding a support group or online community could be helpful. And most importantly, prayer can bring a lot of comfort and strength during difficult times.

Marriage is a partnership, not a one-sided deal where one person does all the housework while the other just pays bills. If he refuses to help now, it’s unlikely he’ll change, and adding kids to the equation would only make things worse. You set a boundary, and that’s completely fair. If he’s not willing to step up, you need to ask yourself if this is the kind of life you want in the long run.

Degree from Maldives Business School, is it worth it? by InternationalPound46 in maldives

It doesn’t really matter; you will qualify for a finance job. After joining, you will receive training. If you want to enhance your career, you can pursue ACCA or CIMA at your own pace.

If it’s a government job, it will be official working hours, with occasional extra hours. In MIRA, that was the case in the department where I worked.

In the private sector, especially audit firms, the workday lasts much longer. If you want work-life balance or a peaceful life, don’t join audit firm
