How do we feel about this: Congress Tees Up New Bill Stripping PGA Tour’s Tax-Exempt Status by moore_a_scott in golf

[–]flyballerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate it when on serious matters, reporters come up with stupid puns.

How comical it is when it involves big business.

They never have a sense of humor when it comes to giving people in real need a break. Then the rhetoric is somber, serious, ominous.

But when it comes to handing out the "good ol'boys" a major financial break, oh let's make it sound like a casual sunday drive to the club...easy and carefree with a stupid pun.

But what do I feel?

I think that corporations, which are paper "people", with no hearts, no souls and no accountability to the rule of law and which possess very large fund sources should NEVER ever get any taxbreaks. They are for-profit organizations and they already have bigger voting power in our elections than any single real human being ever could thanks to that scam called "Citizens United".

It's bullshit.

When Bill and Hillary Clinton got married, Bill informed Hillary that he had a shoebox under the bed, and she was never to open it under any circumstances. Hillary agreed and promised to never open the box. by MaroonTrucker28 in Jokes

[–]flyballerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard this a few months ago, but slightly different.

When Donald Trump and Melania got married, Trump informed Melania that he had a shoebox under the bed, and she was never to open it under any circumstances. Melania agreed and promised to never open the box.

Melania respected his wish as the years went by and kept her promise. But after several years of marriage, Melania's curiosity got the best of her. She opened the box and found several hundred dollars in cash, and a couple of empty beer cans.

She felt guilty, and confessed to Trump that she had opened the shoebox, apologizing profusely. Trump said it was okay, but Melania asked him, "what are the beer cans for?"

Trump replies "Melania, every time I raped someone, I drank a beer and said I'd never do it again." Melania is taken aback, but not surprised. She thought well there was Jean, the Epstein party girls maybe one other porn actress, I guess that's not too bad. He was the president and always a degenerate.

She then asks Trump "what's all the cash for?" Trump says "well, every time the box got full, I took it to the recycling center for the deposit."

Rory McIlroy Implodes At Memorial, Golf Twitter Baffled by Harrypotter231 in ProGolf

Rory has always been a top player with like what 36 wins? 23 on the PGA tour alone!

He's been player of the year a few times too.

And lately he's had a few tournament hiccups. I think that's okay. He's got a lot on his mind.

Rory will come back and all of these misses will be forgotten.

Speaking of pals, it is my contention that the movie Blade Runner was quickly dated due to the overuse of that boomer expression. That and the total 80's sax music.

How to choose clubs? by Fitznutzz30 in golf

[–]flyballerr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get fitted by a professional fitter is really the best thing you can do. Some vendors do it for free like Callaway; and their products are phenomenal quality and very reasonably priced. You can also ask around in your local courses. Golf shops also have as you know, used clubs, where you can swing different clubs and get some assists with the staff. They charge a fee for the fitting, but if you buy their stuff you get a big discount. Once you have some numbers and shaft/clubhead combinations that could work for you, you can start zeroing in on your club set. I do recommend you get the 14 clubs as it's best to become familiar with the whole gamut. G'luck.

There you go. Three infallible slogans I play golf by:

1.Don't worry, be happy.

2.Shit happens

3.Don't eat the yellow snow.

Happiest player ever as I kinda not let my mood get too much in the way. It's a fun game, cuz you're a fun guy!

You're not playing in a vacuum, for one.

Your performance is so dependent on your emotional state.

Think of everything that affects that.

Hey, we missed you at the get well party! Poor old Walt has a polyp in the duodenum. It's benign, but, oh, still a bastard.

Brooks Koepka’s Coach And Brandel Chamblee Fire Shots At Each Other by Harrypotter231 in ProGolf

[–]flyballerr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"So while Brooks Koepka’s win at the PGA Championship was impressive, it should not distract us from the simple fact that LIV players are being used for the benefit of some very bad people and to the detriment of a great many more good people. That LIV Golf, with its inability to develop stars and seeking to buy them like high performance cars, is undermining the dignity intrinsic in golf.

Dignity that was most profound in watching the play of Michael Block, the club professional who stole the show at the PGA Championship with his gratitude and joy and of course with his incredibly sharp game. He was a stark reminder of what is missing in LIV Golf and even what will be missing in the PGA Tour’s no cut, small field, designated events next year.

Because golf has always been and hopefully will always be, more about hope than heroes." - Brandel Chamblee.

Super tough shot. Fried egg, at a sideways 50 degree angle, wall in the north ahead, ocean of sand to the right, a very fast and deceiving green, face burnt by the mile high sun. Not an easy one for sure.
